I have "a hairdresser's nightmare" hair: fine, thin, absolutely straight, short. It does not take or hold curl. I hate permanents so need a heavy-duty iron to produce "curl."
My previous 25-year-old curling iron's heating element went out. I ordered the Hot Tools Ceramic Titanium 3/4-in to replace it. What a difference! This iron really gets hot (you select temp), the barrel grips the hair tightly, it heats extremely fast, and it's easy to handle.
My resulting curls are stronger and last longer. Takes me about three minutes to "do" my hair now. I have no negatives with regards to this item.

I'm in love with this curling iron. I've always used a regular curling iron, but the Hot Tools iron is so much more efficient. It heats up fast, I don't have to hold it in my hair forever, and my curls last much longer. Definitely a great buy!

I bought this curling iron to replace the one I had been using for 7 years, which a friend broke. It is easy to use, warms up fast, and curls my naturally curly/then straightened hair extremely well. This is my first ceramic curling iron and it works just as well as my previous metal hot tool with less damage. I recommend the smaller barrel if your curls tend to fall or loosen up quickly, this helps it last longer all day. FYI: I also did a lot of research on this item and it sells for twice as much at other retailers.
