I love this iron. I used to have a CHI, but there was no heat control setting. As my hair starting going grey, the high heat was causing damage. I love this HAI iron - I can reduce the heat for my fragile hair and still get the same soft and shiny results. I've tried lower end commercial ceramic irons and they work some, but they don't provide the same shine or lasting results. San Antonio is a hot and humid climate, and my hair will stay smooth all day and night. The HAI is made with the same industrial grade casing and electrical cord as the CHI. Very high quality. I expect this iron to last a long time. Definately worth the investment and I highly recommend it.

The BEST Flat Iron

I purchased this after my former roommate, who has Asian-Spanish hair, bought one of her own, and I found myself borrowing it on an all-too regular basis. Being a Black woman, I've tring a lot of flat/curling irons on my hair, and nothing comes close to this one, as my sister can also attest to. While I could sing its praises for a variety of aspects, the best parts for me is that I never get that burnt-hair smell when using this, no matter how high I have the heat on, and the iron pleats glide over my hair smoothly, never snaring at the ends, which has happened to me with other irons. I let my hair dry naturally after washing, and then use the HAI iron to straighten it out, and the finshed product looks like I've been to see someone who styles hair for a living. You also don't need to use this everyday, due to the fact that it smoothes so well, so it is also better for your hair. Highly recommeneded for all hair types!

I ordered both the CHI and HAI flat iron - one for me and the other for my daughter. Both irons are similar in price, quality made materials, design, handle easily and heat up quickly. But the HAI straightens and curls better than the CHI on my long, frizzy hair and my daughter's long, very fine hair. The CHI does work, but I need to go over the strands a couple of times for it to straighten. For the value, I am keeping them both, but using the HAI for myself.
What can I say -- this is an EXCELLENT purchase. If you need a flatiron, I would highly recommend this one. I got one as a gift, and then I got one for my sister and my friend (they kept using mine!).
After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give this flat iron a try. While other expensive flat irons, that I own, have pulled at the ends of my hair, causing damage, this one does not. It also keeps your hair straight & frizz free in humidity. It is very easy to use, heats up fast & leaves my hair smooth as silk. And I appreciate the extra safety measure, of the reset button. I also took out the extra 2 year warranty, but probably will not need it, as it seems to be a quality built product.
