This was a really good bargain. So far it's working great and I hope it continues. I bought a brand new one that lasted only 3 months. The one I owned prior to that lasted 5 years.

I love CHI flat irons. I had one for 5 years and it fell on the tile floor and broke. I bought a cheap one and hated it and decided to buy a CHI again and I'm so glad that I did. I have curly hair and it took too long to straighten with the other iron, but with my CHI I'm done in no time. I would highly recommend this iron to anyone.

I would give this product 5 stars, but we did have an issue with the first one we purchased (this is the replacement to that one - same product though) breaking. But my daughter absolutely LOVES this flat iron and her hair looks incredibly straight and soft when she's finished using it - she has very thick (and a lot of) ethnic hair, and it's the first flat iron we've found that can tame it. I would definitely recommend this to any and all friends and hopefully (knock on wood) it won't break this time because it's fantastic.

The quality is unmatched. We have Chi's and other types of flat irons, but this one trumps them all. The ONLY thing I wish it had was a more specific temperature reading. It shows the temp for 176, and then the line up to 450 gets thicker as the temp increases, but it doesn't tell you what the temp is. So, for people who aren't every-day straighteners (like us), it's a guessing game to get the temp right every time we use it. It's a minor pain that should be fixed, but nothing that impacts the functionality of the iron itself, so I still have to give it 5 stars simply because it's just that wonderful of an iron. Great for biracial hair!!! Comes out way better than with a Chi, and keeps it healthy and pin straight for days.

SHOPPERS.. THIS IS A REAL CHI.. you have to be very very careful what you buy.. I reviewed at least 10 different so called CHI Flat Irons on Amazon.. all the review report THEY ARE NOT REAL Chi.. This however is the real deal.. if you have even own one, you know it no words be said.. if you haven't you need to.. If your hair is curly, it will be smooth, soft and you will NOT fry your hair with this.. LOVE, LOVE MY CHI.. this is my second one.. the first one lasted over 5 years.. YOU will NEVER be sorry you spent the money on this product.. I love this one for three reasons.. THE COLOR, THE VARIABLE TEMP CONTROL... and of course because of the Ceramic Plates.. that never wear out.. Great deal.. Overstock had this to me in 4 days..

The product is just ok. It does the job- it straightes the hair great... except..... Prior to purchasing the Croc, I owned the FHI in which I used religiously 5-6 times a week and my hair was always healthy looking.. After using the Croc I noticed my hair looking and feeling really damaged after a few uses.I agree with one of the posts.. The ceramic plating is less damaging than the titanic it seems.

I was so excited to get this product because it was inexpensive and the reviews were fairly favorable. However, this iron doesn't hold heat long enough to flatten your hair. It will heat up at the beginning but within 30 seconds, you can feel it losing heat. I had to place it back on the charge 4-5 times to get my hold head done. The idea is GREAT but this iron doesn't deliver. Maybe some of the more expensive models will work. That will be my next mission. I am retuning this iron today. So sad.

I had a CHI for over 5 years that was finally bitting the bullet. It was making funny noises and I needed something reasonable and similar. I found this CHI on Overstock for, not only, cheaper but better quality. I started looking on websites and this one seemed to meet my budget and was overall a better CHI. The CHI I had only had an ON and OFF switch, but this one has a temperature roller; and it was pink (!) , versus my black one that had skulls all over it. Though it has a normal plug in on it, versus my old one with the surge protector, that would be the only flaw of this product!

I got this a bit ago because it was half the price of a new Chi. I bought this to replace my old Chi (rest its soul) which I had for 5 years before it died. This refurbished one barely lasted a month. It was fine for a bit, and then it wouldn't turn on -- which is how my old one started to go -- unless I clicked the reset button a few times, turned the switch to "on," and give it a few minutes before the straightener and red LED light would turn on. Each time I went to use it, it would take longer and longer to turn on until I was waiting a half hour or so. Recently, it just quit working altogether. No matter how many times I push the reset button or how many hours I wait, it won't turn on. Thankfully I bought the warranty. In general, Chis are amazing -- always leave my hair shiny, straight and smelling like the shampoo I used instead of burned hair. Last time I buy a refurb through o.co.

this is a great hair straightener, esp for **** bucks! I bought one for a birthday present for my friend and myself. we always complained that after a long day at work, we're waitresses and between sweating and the heat from the kkitchen our hair never stayed straight very long. so i bought theses. only complaint is that you have to carry the base/charger with you. i was hoping it would be battery charged, but overall a few minutes on the charger and its very very hot. stays hot for about 10 minutes too. theres not temperature dial so you cant controll the temp, but it doesnt matter bc on my other straighteners i always keep it on the highest setting. and this one doesnt pull my hair like other straighteners did. the base is heavy but the straightener itself is lightweight and easy to use. wen my friend opened the gift i had at least 5 other people asking me where i bought it so they could order one for themselves as well!
