CHI Mini
 from FL,  Jan 3, 2012

Bought this item for my daughter for Christmas, as the reviews were good and many buyers said that the Mini CHI was actually easier to manipulate than the full sized CHI. My daughter LOVES it, and is very impressed with the quality of the Mini CHI. She travels occasionally so this is something she can use at home or take with her easily. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

  • How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Item looks exactly as pictured on Overstock.com

  • Please tell us about the quality of the product. The product quality so far seems well above average

Flat Iron
 from Texas,  Feb 19, 2011

I have never owned a flat iron and I was hoping this small one would be easy to handle and I know this is a good name brand. I don't really know how to use it but I am getting better. I love the way it smooths my flyaway hair, even though I have straight fine hair, it smooths it out. It heats quickly and it just the right size for my hand. The price was excellent. I would recommend this product.

Disappointed
 from California,  Jan 8, 2011

I ordered this flat iron because of the Chi brand name, but was very disappointed with it. It really does not heat up as hot as it should so doesn't really work on my hair. I have used the regular Chi Flat Iron with great results. I am going to return this and order the regular one. Do not waste your time with this one. Pay a little more and go for the regular if you don't want to be disappointed.

Mini CHI ROCKS
from Humid Florida,  Dec 4, 2010

While wanting a Chi Flat Iron, but not willing to spend the big $$, I decided to give the Mini Chi a shot. I love it!! The small compact size makes using it a snap, the bigger flat irons are combersome. I do NOT feel as in some other reviews that it does not get hot enough.....I think it is plenty hot, and it does not fry my hair like some others I have tried. My hair has never felt heathlier, and looks GREAT. This is coming from someone who has wavy coarse hair and has tried many different hair products, appliances, and gets daily compliments on how great my hair is.

disapointed
from san dlemente, ca,  Sep 15, 2010

This flat iron has given chi a bad rep. It just doesnt get hot! even once my hairs pretty straight and i just wanna touch it up it takes forever and i have to go over my hair again and again. It does not leave my hair shiny or straight, and my hair isnt very curly more so thick and wavy. Waste of $$$ - ill say the size is great tho, love the short handle, fits perfect in purse thats the only reason it got even 1star. Keep looking ladies this flat iron is a *****.

Great Product

This little tool works great. I wanted something small b/c I have rather short, fine hair. I wish it were a bit skinnier, but it gets the job done.

Mini Chi flat iron
from Birmingham, AL,  May 26, 2010

I am happy with my mini Chi flat iron. With no handle, I knew it would be a little different but it does take some getting used to in order to be able to squeeze the plates together enough to get the heat on the hair. You can feel the heat through the outside of the plates but you do have to place your hand on the outside in order to push it together. Like the handled ones better but couldn't pass up getting a Chi (even a mini Chi) for $39.

Not up to expectations
 from Phila. , Pa.,  Mar 11, 2010

Though I love my regular size Chi, I was a bit disappointed in the travel size. It has a nicely-sized wide surface, however the heating element is not consistent. It seems hotter in the first few uses and then cools down considerably. For hair that is excessively curly or wavy, it takes more than a few swipes.

So-So
from Long Island, NY,  Dec 17, 2009

I have owned the full size version of the CHI ceramic flat iron for 2 years now and LOVE IT. I was hoping the travel size would be just as great, but unfortunately it doesn't measure up. The travel size does not get nearly as hot as the full size version and therefore doesn't work as well. I'm not sure how this travel size iron compares to other travel size irons...but when comparing to the full size version of the CHI, it's definitely not as good.

Pretty good overall
 from Florida,  Dec 2, 2009

Compact, easy to pack. Worked fine with just a basic adapter in London. Heats up quickly but does not get as hot as my regular straightener. For the price, I think it is a good buy.

Great size, good for travel

I bought this because I needed a flat iron that was small and compact to fit into my gym bag. It's very easy to use, heats up quickly, and basically does the job well. Great product!

Dual Voltage Travel Flat Iron
Anonymous  from TN, USA,  Jul 6, 2009

We purchased the Mini Chi Travel Flat Iron for a trip to London and Paris. This flat iron does not heat as hot as the regular full size Chi iron but worked well. Product box states "converts from 110v to 220v with regular adapter". We used the flat iron in both London and Paris with the appropriate electrical conversion adapter without any problem. Iron does not have a dual voltage switch.

Good but Costly
from Elmira, NY,  Jul 1, 2009

Works good for smoothing down that unwanted frizz but if you want your hair pin straight you will need to use the CHI silk infusion (which is around $20) for the best look or some sort of gel. I heats up so quickly it is like magic. It goes through your hair smoothly. My old cheap straightener you could just feel it ruining your hair with those metal plates. I would highly recommend the product though.

Great product
from Albuquerque, NM,  Jun 13, 2009

This is a great product. It is the easiest hair iron I have ever used. It is small and fits my hand so much better than the full sized irons. The transaction was fast and I was very satisfied.
