They required some assembly and some of the washers got lost in transit (the box was taped up with the transport companies tape) But I had some washers handy and it was easy to assemble. The shipping carton was larger than we expected, but we could handle it. Assembly was no problem. We were thrilled to see this is made in the heartland, not far from where I grew up.
