The salt lamp gives a peaceful glow and add a touch a zen to any room. I love mine.

Was expecting a sphere, but got a more oblong shape. It's fine, it's what I wanted , some ambiance for my massage room, and it's beautiful all lit up.

• How did the image on site compare with the actual product? not exactly. it appeared in the the picture that it's a shere sitting on a base. it's not exactly round, more egg shaped and it's carved out in the middle, allowing for a nightlight to be inserted. and then the whole stone is screwed onto a wood base.

I was a bit suspicious at first however, having them turned on 24/7 they do work – there is a big difference in air quality - for the good. How they work – I don’t know for sure other than how their described – it’s a mystery but worth the investment!

I always wanted one of these lamps. They give off a nice glow, and have a soothing presence. This lamp does not disappoint. The lamp is being used as a night light of sorts, and it is just right for that function.

I was very skeptical about this product but decided to give it a try. I just use it a few hours a day while I'm on my computer. But I can really tell a difference with my breathing being better and sinuses clearer.

I ordered two of these origionally. I have seen them hand made in savannah and i should have gone there. The first two showed up and one was perfect round and had the natural stone markings. the second had a VERY JAGGED CREVICE all the way around. I asked for a replacement. I just got the replacements ten minutes ago and they look horrid. there are again the crevices. these are not natural to the material/medium these freaking lights are supposed to be made of. so three out of four are horrible looking DO NOT BOTHER ORDERING.

These are great to have in your home for peaceful sleep and low lighting but they DO NOT supply the light so before you can use lamp you need to go to your hardware store to get a tea light that is not to big for the Salt Lamps. Other than that complaint I love them (have three of my own).

I love my salt lamps. I ordered several and they all arrived undamaged. I read previous reviews before ordering and I do not understand why so many (almost all) complained about the lack of instructions, especially concerning the bulb type. It is plainly stated in the item description that it uses up to 25 watt candleabra bulb. I personally am using nightlight bulbs as that is what I had on hand, and also I do not have to worry about them getting too hot. I am going to get some other bulbs and check throughout the day to may sure they are not too hot. Anyway, they are great.

Lamp Good, Hardware terrible. The terrible part is that the hardware (bulb setting and cord) was cheap and had to be replaced. Although I did get the new one, I actually went on Amazon to but a better grade bulb setting and cord. So you figure for me it was this price plus $6.

I was looking for a small salt lamp to use as a night light in my master bathroom. I couldn't find anything as small as I wanted and the shipping was outrageous on most of them anyway. I just happened to click on the OverStock site and found this lamp. Most of the reviews were positive, but some mentioned cracked lamps, odd shapes and various other negative aspects. I was hesitant to order, but with 1.00 shipping I figured I'd give it a shot. The little lamp arrived in a large outer box and it was in a small box well padded with styrofoam. I quickly checked the shape ( perfect), looked for cracks (none), color (rich orange), and the cord/light set-up. As reviewed, there was no bulb, but that was a quick fix with a Christmas bulb I had on hand. The cord is long with an on/off switch. This lamp is exactly what I wanted. It's the smallest size I've seen that was electirc (not USB), and it casts a warm, soft glow from it's little wood base. Just a pretty piece. I would certainly recommend giving this a try if you want something small and unique. Salt lamps give off the nicest color and this one could be tucked into any spot and look fabulous.

I am very happy! It's beautiful. I can see all kinds of strata in the crystal when it's lit up. It feels good to the touch. It gets very warm so lots of negative ions are generated. It gets rid of radiation from your computer and makes your body and breathing live easier. It's old and mystical.

I am a great salt lamp fan and this seemed an ideal gift for an office gift exchange. I didn't see it until the recipient opened it. I was a little disappointed to see that the globe was not centered on the wooden base. Although if placed to display the best side it didn't show, the fact that the base was lopsided was a disappointment.

there is something very feng shui about this item. i bought 6 of them in total! 2.95 for shipping- cant go wrong! I ordered a few different products on overstock.com - 10 salt lamps in all and they were all great. Each one was professionally packaged in a very thick cardboard box, and a lot of bubble wrap! The Cords were put together in a bright red ziplock bag so that they were easy to find. Wow, what great customers service. I will definately be coming back buying again from this site! The Black Tai Himalayan Salt Lamps are the bomb!

These salt lamps are beautiful. It makes for a good nightlight. I burn mine all day.

I place mine by the computer, and it was bought in hopes to get some health benefits from it. I actually do think it makes a difference. I don't need it for a night light, as I have several of those, and can get some for less money. It does give off a good bit of light for such a small bulb. My only regret is that I didn't buy more of them. I should of also stocked up for gifts.. Also being a natural item, people should know that the lamp might have some divet places on the globe. Mine is pretty smooth, and this is not an issue. I don't know why the word black is in the description as the base in wood .tone..

This was not what I had expected from overstock ,. this was a gift for a relative ,now, I'm very embasrrassed, I received the phone call from my relative >>>stating this was just thrown in the box and looked like someone returned this and cracked and was just re-sent without inspecting the package !!!!!!!!!!!!
