Not sure if it works. Product arrived with batteries in the unit that were dead. $6 later, the product appears to work, but I question what it is doing. It's made of a cheap lightweight plastic but does look exactly like the photo. I bought this BodyFat/Hydration analyzer to try to get a handle on my elderly father's hydration status. He kept getting dehydrated in a rehab facility following a stroke and the nursing staff wasn't catching it before he was getting confused due to the dehyrdation. So I was hoping this would give me an early indicator. Instructions say do not use if young or over 80. Also says not recommended for any medical use. He's 81. Half the time it doesn't get a reading on him. It seems to work better if he raises his arms up off the bed so static electricity from the sheets might be interfering. The readings however are too consistent. He reads 17.6% body fat and 56.5% hydration every day with no variation. The unit seems to depend more on the age and weight entered than anything else. The only time I've seen it change is when I changed the age to 80 instead of 81, then his numbers improved very slightly. If it really is sensitive to 0.1% I would expect to see changes. I used it on myself with his settings and it said I had a lower body fat ratio than him, which is clearly not true. When I entered my real age and weight and tried it on myself again, it gave a more reasonable reading on me. However, that makes me think it's not really sensing your fat and hydration level, it's relying heavilly on some age/weight formula.

Overpriced Calculator I lost weight and was excited to test my body-fat percent, then when I grabbed the handle it gave me the same percentage as before I started. I realized that I didn't change my weight in on the device, and when I changed the weight and did it again it gave me a lower number. So basically this device just takes your height and and weight and gives you a calculation when you grab the handle. You could find a body fat calculator online somewhere and enter even more info and get a more accurate estimate than this piece of junk.

Regret Purchasing I knew I should have read more reviews on this product. I was disappointed that the batteries were dead when the unit arrived. Why put batteries in this at all if they aren't charged upon delivery? The machine is very small and feel like a cheap dollar store item. After reading further reviews I regret this purchase entirely. I'm not even sure I will attempt to use it, it seems it's not very accurate anyways. I will be purchasing a different body fat analyzer from a different company. It's my own fault for not checking, and I do not suggest this product to ANYONE!
