I was worried that the urn might not be "silver" enough since it's pewter, but it's perfect. In fact it's nicer than it's pictured. I came with a velvet case as well as a new plastic bag should you wish to transfer the contents into that vs. just putting it directly in the urn. The top screws on for safe keeping and it goes very well with my home decor. I couldn't be happier with the product and it's much cheaper than other urns I had priced. If you like the picture you will love the urn in person.

About the appearance: the image online is spot on. The urn is metallic/pewter in color. Very substantial in weight. It arrived in careful packaging and includes a dark blue felt satchel, and inside the screw top there is a plastic bag for remains if needed. This urn is made in India and the detail is quite impressive. The dark embellishments are like carved lines which have been filled in with black enamel. This urn has the timeless classic elegance without some of the gaudy features I found in others. I would recommend this urn to anyone. My mother has found a home. Also, the delivery for me was less than two days! My first overstock.com purchase, and I will be back- definately.

I had been searching online for quite some time, but could not find anything that struck me that was in a price range I could afford. Then I came across this one at Overstock and really liked the look. I ordered the large urn and a small keepsake urn in the same pattern (be aware that the keepsake size is very small and meant to contain only a small quantity--I was aware of this and it was perfect for what I wanted). Both are gorgeous and I am very satisfied with the quality and appearance. The items were shipped right away and came sooner than I expected. Great merchandise and service.

we purchased this for our dad. the funeral home had the exact same type for twice the cost. we were worried about purchasing such a personal item online, with a NO RETURN policy. all was well, looked as pictured, perfect condition and quality. we will be proud to bring the urn home from the temple soon and place it on our altar.
