A few weeks ago, we published an infographic featuring ten 10-minute holiday crafts. We knew when we made it that it was something special, but we have had so much positive response to it, we just had to share some of it with you.
Maria-Isabel at agapelovedesigns.com not only shared the Ten 10-Minute Holiday Crafts Ideas infographic; last Thursday, she posted her results when she tried out one of our craft suggestions. She made the candy cane candlestick holder, and styled it beautifully to make a very festive centerpiece. I especially like her DIY apothecary jar. I could see one of those filled with small Christmas ornaments, too.
On diyinspired.com, Dinah posted the infographic along with loads of other fun craft ideas, including a few that were runners-up to be on our infographic. If we'd had 11 ideas, we would have absolutely included the Scrabble tile ornament. I also love her idea for the fabric clock. There is a strong possibility someone may be getting that as a gift from me this year.
Anna from mylifeandkids.com posted the infographic with a reminder that there is still time for crafts before the holidays. We couldn't agree more! I think I even have time to try her jewelry Christmas tree. I may use only buttons to cut down on prep time, though.
At gussysews.com, we noticed that the reindeer poop was especially well received in the comments. We've heard a few a variations on the idea, like using marshmallows and labeling it "snowman poop." If you search online, you will find several ideas for clever poems to add to the label. My favorite is this simple couplet:
You've been bad, so here's the scoop:
Santa brought you reindeer poop!
In addition to these blogs, we've seen the infographic on pinterest.com and, it has gotten recognition on some graphic design websites, too. Megan at brassyapple.blogspot.com liked the cool chalkboard design; we have Kassandra Wright from our Design department to thank for that.
The holiday season is upon us. Hanukkah starts tomorrow evening, Thursday is Winter Solstice and Christmas is on Sunday. With time running out to decorate and come up with gifts, are there any 10-minute crafts you are thinking about trying?
