It didn't have any major defects, there were a few marks on the wood from shipping that are only visible if you look at an odd angle, just because they are more shiny from rubbing or something on the box/foam. Nothing was broken, damaged, or scratched from shipping though.Looks very nice with the dark wood, velvet inside is nice offset. Larger even than it looks in the photo, plenty of storage space. Drawers slide easily. Only complaint I have is the little wood separators in a couple of the drawers are very flimsy and break easily if accidentally pushed on at all, but the rest of the jewelry box is very sturdy.I was happy with it. It is what I was looking for, and a good value find, should last a very long time.

I was looking for a jewelry box that would hold all of my jewelry and also go with my style in my apartment. That's exactly what I got! The wood is a nice dark brown color and the knobs are muted silver. The photo doesn't do the box justice with how much space it has. My only complaint is how deep the drawers are. Some of my jewelry is too tall and gets caught when I open the drawers. Also, don't plan on keeping any of your jewelry in it's boxes and putting it inside this. It won't fit! Overall, I would recommended this box if you have a large amount of jewelry and you want it in one central place.

I LOVE this! It is huge, but it holds a LOT! It is attractive and has all kinds of storage spots. No complaints!!

When I received the jewery box it was really nice looking. Then I took it out of the box and one of the knobs was laying in the bottom of the box, and it had a big chip taken off the top. It was suppose to be a present but wasn't up to standards to give anyone so I kept it for myself.

This is a very nice-looking piece. It holds quite a lot of jewelry. The drawers fit well (a piece of removable styrofoam packing behind the drawers might have caused the problem others have mentioned). Although one of the knobs was off when it arrived, it screwed on very easily.However---although it has a number of slotted rows for rings, the drawers are so shallow that any ring with a stone that has a substantial setting will not fit. I had to place most of my rings into one of the other sectioned areas of a drawer. Too bad---a lot of wasted space.

This is my first purchase with Overstock and overall it was fine. The item was delivered in a thin box, which had gotten wet so the bottom was falling out. The item inside the box was not packed well due to only having very thin strips of styrofoam and the top was all scratched. Also, 2 of the little handles on the drawers are lose with no way to tighten without ripping the jewel padding out. It is a nice product, but I expected a little more for the money. I would have bet $1000 that my wife would have told me to return it, but she actually loved it. 1 more thing, they have a section for rings, but if you use them, the drawer won't close.

The jewelry box is poorly designed since after lining up your rings in the spaces provided, you cannot close the drawers......Duh!

Another gift I purchased for my wife as an xmas gift. It was heavy, solid, and appears to be built exceptionally well. My only gripe was that the finish had what could best be describes as two dull bands going across the entire top. I'm guessing it was whatever belt system it rides on during manufacturing. Not enough to warrant returning it for us, but I can imagine some people sending it back with such a defect.Otherwise, wonderful. Even the interior design was well thought out. It holds a lot of jewelry while still looking organized.

this item. Was much bigger than I thought, but that turned out to be a good thing as it was promptly filled up by my husband! It was a Christmas gift for him. We liked that it was not ornate and is good for a man. The finish is nice, no scratches or anything. Several of the nobs were loose, all but one my husband was able to tighten up. I noticed this issue in other people's reviews as well before I purchased, so was not surprised and knew that they could be tightened. Overall, good quality and am happy with.

I received this two days after ordering. The workmanship is beautiful...very heavy walnut wood with black lining. It also has several different components to the top drawer which is great for larger pieces of jewelry. This jewelry box does not lock, though.

Our daughters selected trhis as a present to my wife. The style and finish blends well with our furniture. The padded compartments enable the jewelry to be stored properly and viewed easily. There was only one small problem with loose knobs - but that was easily fixed.! This is highly reccommended for someone with lots of trinkets ( or hopes to have lots!)

Actually I plan to return this item. The wood is a beautiful color and very rich looking, but when we opened the box, there are three large scratches on the top lid and one drawer is very rough on the top edge ( which is the edge you see). Since it is a very smooth finish the scratches stick out like a sore thumb. I am just very disappointed and since this was a gift for my daughter it is just not acceptable. Except for the defects it is a beautiful box and has wonderful compartments.

The Jewelry box is heavy, very solid and well made, and it looks nice too. It's bigger than I expected which is a plus. It has a strong odor of paint and glue like most new furniture do, so I left it in the garage to air out. Can't wait to use it.

This jewerly box came with the knobs off,the drawers not lined up! Total piece of junk !!

pretty but when arrived- 3 of the knobs had fallen off- one of the screws for the knobs got stuck inside the front drawer and was very hard to fix, had several knicks on it.

My girlfriend loved it!!! The shipping was very fast and free. The quality of wood and felt was very high. I just need to find the valet made from the company!!!
