  • Rather disappointed

I understood from reading the reviews I'd have to buy a new bow and rosin. I was not anticipating the bow to come with already broken strings as though someone had already used it. My largest issues stems from the fact that it came quite loose and in trying to tighten it, the strings became dislodged and I'll need to take it to a music store. Fortunately, it turns out that this is the wrong size for my daughter so we are going to put off the added expense of fixing the violin so it actually plays.

I bought this for my son for christmas. He has never played violin before but is extremely talented with many other musical instruments including stringed instruments, so instead of paying a couple of hundred dollars on a good quality violin that I wasn't sure if he would stick with, I purchased this package for a starter. He was dissapointed when it didn't make any sound. I took it from him and did some research and now it is working wonderfully. First of all, the rosin needed to be cut with a knife since it was brand new. After that, you could get plenty of sound out of it even without plugging it into an amp. Second, it needed some peg grip which I bought from the music shop for $5 and it works a little too well. Third, the bridge needs to be cut but I did this myself with a carpenter's knife and some sand paper. It's really easy since the violin is flat and the feet of the bridge is flat as well. All that needed to be cut is the corners. It took a steak knife to put the g...

  • Decent for Beginners

This is a good violin to learn on for the value. Ignore the people who complained about this instrument. They have no knowledge of musical instruments particularly of the violin. It is a difficult instrument to learn and takes years to master. As a noob, I sound horrible due to my technique. The only issue I had was tuning. The strings are brand new and need some time to stretch out before you can get a reliable sound. Overall its a good buy for what you get.

I love my Viola. The tone is very nice. It makes a great student Viola. It holds its tuning well. The case is very protective and plush. It has a good quality bow. The strings that came with it were not the best, but those are easily replaced. I would highly recommend this viola to someone looking for a student viola.

  • This ukulele case is just what I needed

The concert ukulele case has a velcro strap that holds down the uke in place to prevent movement. The outer zipper pocket holds several song books, extra strings and a tuner. The case also came with 2 straps that you can attach to the d-rings and carry it like a backpack. Thinking of getting another one for my Kamaka Tenor.
