I loved the idea of this and I was so disappointed when it arrived and smelled so strongly of petroleum that I had to put it outside. I tried to get my cat in it, but the smell was toxic for him. I was sorry to have to return it - great concept. I see all the positive reviews - maybe I got a bad one (?)
I used this to take my Yorkie on her first ever airplane trip. It is light weight yet sturdy. The handle made it easy to maneuver in the airport. It slid easily under the seat (US Air). I would recommend it highly to anybody with a small pet. I plan on using it as a car carrier also as it has straps in the back that you can loop the seatbelt thru.
I bought this carrier so I can take my chihuahua on my motorcycle with me without having to have her in front. This carrier is sturdy enough to strap on the back seat with bungies and stays in place. It would be nice if this were designed with this in mind, ie: places to run the bungies through or extra straps, but overall this works very well. It is nice and sturdy. Very well made.
I fly between AZ and FL a couple of times a year and always take my cat with me. Up until now, I've used the soft sided carrier the looks like a duffel bag. Upon my arrival, I always spent the next 2-3 days dealing with neck and back pain and headaches because carrying the weight on one side of my body would pull my spine out of alignment. With this carried, I arrived at my destination & back again pain free!! I didn't need to use it since i was able to wheel him the whole time, but love the fact that if I do need to carry for any length of time, I can use this as a backpack and distribute the weight evenly. In addition, I think it was a much smoother ride for him because he wasn't being jossled around so much. One issues I had was my cat didn't have as much room as the his other carrier. When it was upright, he could stand easily, but didn't have a lot of room to move around. When it was laid down under the seat, he had plenty of room to move, but couldn't really stand up all the way. (He's 11 lbs). I also had a little trouble fitting it under the seat & found I had to put it in with the wheels at the bottom sticking out in my footroom a little, making it impossible to see him without pulling it out. This may differ based on airline though, as it seems like the under-seat storage was smaller than I'm used to on US Airways (I was on Delta). Despite these issues though, would definitely recommend this for anyone that travels with a pet. If you're just looking for something to take them to the vet though, save $ and buy the regular carrier.

I have a 11lb Maltipoo and he's headed to florida for the holidays with me. I've search around quite a bit for a dog bag that looks nice, easy to handle and comfy for my pooch and affordable. I found it with this one.The measurements in the details are not completely accurate...the width is 13 1/2 which make this bag airline friendly.Little guy loves it and so do I! Also, can't beat the price. This sells for twice as much on other sites.
