It is a great instrument for your beginner player. I liked how everything that goes with the instrument came inside the package, including a cello bag! Our school music teacher thought is was a great cello. The music teacer noticed tho that it had no brand name inside telling you who made it. Otherwise it's a great deal!!!

A student recently received this cello, and I have to say I was surprised by the quality for this price. I mean, it's not one I would recommend for an advanced student, but for your average public school orchestra student it will do just fine. The instrument itself seems to be of good quality, and sounds pretty decent. The pegs, while of good materials, are not drilled well - the string holes are too small for the standard replacement string I use - had to enlarge the hole in one already. I have found this to be pretty common in "cheap" instruments, not sure why. The bow is of pretty poor quality - I have seen enough of these bows to know that it will likely warp or break soon. Already the hair tension isn't right - the stick looks overtight even when the hair is only barely tight enough to use. When that happens I will recommend replacing instead of repairing. Last thing: don't follow the sizing listed here: "youth, teen, adult" is NOT an accurate assessment of the correct size instrument. Ask your teacher. With very few exceptions, even my middle school students all use full-size cellos. Overall, this cello is definitely playable, and most importantly is allowing this student to own her own cello when she would not otherwise have been able to do so due to cost.
