Purchased as gift for a good friend and it was a real hit. Looks great in office or study as a accent piece. The metal frame sets globe off nicely.Good price and delivery on time, in good shape.

Wow. This was such a Christmas gift hit! By far the most attention-grabbing thing in the room. It is an amazingly good price for the quality of the work and the final appearance of the product. Kids and adults alike were drawn to it and it held up to a lot of handling by the little ones.

What a beautiful purchase! Picture's do no justice to this item! I purchased this to send to Germany for a friend that is a Weather Man. Have had thought's of keeping it for myself! Description's of this unique globe are not included with it...but just looking at it gives a lot of great detail all by it's own. The Lapis Lazuli is such a beautiful blue and is very complimentary of all the polished inlaid gemstones. The compass is a extra precious touch! The antiqued copper is also complimentary to the whole look of the globe. Very Very Beautiful!!

I saw the larger one in someone else's home; I am sure they paid many times what the globes sell for at Overstock.com. The base has a compass which was an added surprise. The metal is copper and goes with a coffee service that we placed the gobe next to. It looks like a million dollars. The workmanship is outstanding.

I bought this globe counting mainly on the high reviews given by other purchasers. Now that I have one of my own, I can also add my own very positive review. The 9'' globe appears bigger because of the stand holding it, making a more substantial piece.The brilliant colors and materials used are only superceded by the fine markmanship involved. Also, I did price out some other globes and find the price is reasonable for such aquality piece. This globe is a perfect addition to my office the and other travel memorabilia in it

I was originally looking for a cheap desktop globe but found this on Overstock and thought it was beautiful. Someting that I would keep for a long time. The original globe showed up with a small bend in the base. The Overstock people were GREAT about the return and shipping of new globe. The globe has a deep blue finish. It is has weight to it and looks great on my desk. I would higly recommend this to someone who is looking to "Class Up" their office. My Mom even liked it - Go figure.

I purchased this for my husband as a gift since he's been all over the world. The only problem was that I was unable to get it shipped to my home in Alaska. I had it shipped to my parents' house, and they shipped it to mine. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was when I took it out of the box. My parents said they thought the same thing when they looked at it. I haven't given it to my husband yet, but I know he's going to love it. It's very well made and classy looking.

I found this piece while shopping for a Christmas present for my dad. He absolutely loved it: Eventhough one leg on the brass base was broken upon completely unwrapping. I had inspected the globe once I received it but did not unwrap the tissure around the base. One support beam had broken at the foot of the leg...kudos to Overstock for quickly replacing the item! If these return to stock I would certainly advise anyone to make this purchase!
