After lots of research and shopping, I finally decided to purchase the Dessert of the Month club (passing up other similar subscriptions like Dinner of the Month Club). The subscription was a Christmas gift for my boyfriend's parents, who I obviously wanted to make a good impression on. Based on descriptions, I was led to believe that the dessert they would receive would be GOURMET. Looking at pictures when I placed the order, I thought they would receive a fancy, upscale dessert, such as a cheesecake or mousse cake. But instead, their first shipment consisted of Cinnamon Rolls. Yes, cinnamon rolls that looked like I could have purchased them at the grocery store down the street. If the second shipment is of the same caliber (I'm taking bets it will be something like ordinary chocolate chip cookies) than I will be calling to get my money back.

I have ordered this two years in a row now for my Grandmother, who is almost 90 and not in need of too many "gifts", for Christmas. She loves it. The portions are generous enough that she has desert for a week with each shipment. The shipping is easy, they just deliver to your door and drop off the package if you are not available to answer. My Grandmother is brutally honest and she has enjoyed ever shipment, even the items she was not fond of. She said the quality is always excellent, you just sometimes get something that you may not be a fan of. I think the biggest part of all is the surprise that you get with each package! I would definitely do this again!

I gave this as a gift, and I didn't get a lot of feedback. Perhaps, it was because sending these through the mail made it difficult to collect when the recipient was not home...or because the quality wasn't all that spectacular.
