    This beautiful black lacquer and gold rectangular box is handcrafted of the highest quality by Worldstock artisans in the village of Ban Twai in the Golden Triangle region of northern Thailand. Its exquisite floral design that covers the lid, bottom, and sides of the box is a testimony to the artisan's expert craftsmanship. Northern Thai lacquerware is well known to art collectors worldwide, and is acclaimed for some of the finest craftsmanship techniques in the world.
    • Handcrafted by Worldstock artisans in Ban Twai, Thailand
    • Exquisite floral design on lid, bottom, and sides
    • Created by carving mango wood and applying the black resin of the 'Lak' tree as a coating material to give it a fine finish and luster
    • Seven-layer coat of lacquer to ensure high quality
    • Each piece takes two months to complete
    • Real gold is used in the hand-etched designs

    • Pretty Disappointing

      In the pics this looks like a nice, wooden box. When you get it, it is glossy, plasticy, light and very cheap looking. I was really disappointed.

    • Not what I usually expect from Overstock.

      This box did not look anything like the picture. I gave it as a christmas gift, but almost thought of returning it, because it does look very cheap, and was not what I was expecting.

    • Not impressed

      I thought this box was poorly made with cheap materials. The wood is very thin, the lacquer overly thick - likely to cover the fact that the wood is such poor quality. The lid does not have a decent fit to the bottom of the box. It is very loose fitting, so once you put the lid on the box and move the box around slightly the lid shifts and sits slightly askew. I'd expect the lid to at least have a slightly snug fit, this wasn't anywhere near close, it easily shifts around when attached. Sad to say, I returned this within 5 minutes of opening it.

    • Good Buy

      I received this item this week and am pleased with the appearence and workmanship. I was disappointed with the size. I thought it was much bigger than what it is. I had planned on using it for my remote controls but will now find another use. Its a good buy just smaller than it looks on your web page.
