  • Not what I had hoped for.

I did not expect Gibson type quality or even close to that. However, based on the good reviews I had read I felt, for the money, this would be an acceptable risk to take. I was mistaken. The photo showed the "white" model having gold colored hardware with black pick guard. It did not have either. One review I read said there was some dings in paint, but this guitar had gouges out of the wood with paint over them I actually could except the body issues but the bridge pickup does not work at all. There was no gig bag as one review explained, however I did not expect one as I had not read there would be. All in all this guitar looks poor compared to photo, has body damage, and has one pickup that does not work. Overstock did however do a good job of handling the extraction of money from my account and getting it shipped to me in a timely manner.

  • Excellent Price, but needs a little work

This guitar sounded like a true LP. However, the downside can be easily found on the quality of craftsmanship. I have to strip everything and redo the staining and re-applying the clear coat to bring it something aesthetic or pleasing to the eyes. For buyers who don't want their hands get dirty, this is not the guitar for you, because of the reason I have already mentioned. I do suspect however that these guitar came out in perfect quality until they buffed it or maybe boxed it while the lacquer is not fully cure. Lacquer paint, especially clear coat takes about 45 days to cure, before it can be buff. The item I received showed some of premature buffing dings here and there. My recommendation to any buyer is to take your time reapplying the clear coat and then wait about 30 days, and then buff to mirror like finished. This item is way much better than the being sold on ebay as kit.. Another recommendation I have is to upgrade the humbackers to high quality grade pickups. For example, there are some items for sale on ebay for about 70 dollars for two and they are a classic 1959 pickups (repro), but they looked and sounded pretty good. Without the finish scratches and minor dents, I would rate this product with 5 stars, because of the quality of sound. It is pretty good with blues, and can hold sustain pretty well.

  • Great Great Product!

First of all, this guitar is absolutely STUNNING in person. It extremely beutiful (Greenburst Color). This guitar arrived on time with a gig bag, picks, cable, strings, and a screwdriver. This guitar has a couple of finish flaws, nothing major, but definetely a little disappointing. This isnt a major deal since the flaws are on the back, headstock, and top of neck. The tone is great on this thing and great sustain. Overall I would reccommend this to an intermediate - semi pro/pro guitar player. For the price, its a simply un heard of deal. Overall, I'm VERY please with this guitar!

  • Wow!

First of all, this guitar may have a few cosmetic may have to give it a little TLC. I just ordered my second. That is why I gave it a 3 (B-) on construction. But on my scale a 5 is a priceless peice of art. On the bright side...This guitar weighs 12 lbs and it gives it awesome sustain. Even though its a les paul style, it's not the legendary les paul sound. It has a basswood body and this brightens it up alot. With the stock pickups you get a Strat/SG sound. The tones are a splice between Jimi Hendrix and Tony Iommi. You can coax BB King and Slash's bluesy riffage out of it as well. All of the trademark les paul sound quality that youve heard recorded are all there except it'sa little brighter. Basswood also has an even tone. If you play drop tunings..the combination of the even tone and the brighter sound will give you a recitified touch to your sound. (Mesa Boogie) The even Qualities of Basswood also prevents the bass to totally drown everything else out like Mahoghany bodies. The mid range will be more pronounced than other guitars and the mid range gives you crunch in your palm mutes. For another reference Kirk Hammet also uses alot of mids..So you will be closer to him than Zakk Wylde. The pinch harmonics are hot and it can still squeal out Zakks Sirens of Hades.. The pickups are silent when on idle..but they sound like active pups when u overdrive them. Beautiful guitar..not perfect looking...but the tone is easily worth as much as other Brands 5X as much. btw..the cosmetic flaws are things serious guitar players wont ever notice...

I've owned this guitar for about a week now and overall I'm very happy with it. It does have some finish flaws on the back but luckily I don't spend that much time staring at the back of my guitars. The gig bag was damaged but sent me a replacement. The front of the guitar looks great and more importantly the guitar sounds GREAT!! It weighs 12 pounds and has really nice sustain and overall a wonderful sound. If you are looking for a really nice LP style guitar that won't set you back a weeks salary then look no further.

  • Took a shot in the dark and got a mixed bag

I had a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket when I saw the listing for these. A new it was a crap shoot going in given the price and the refusal to name the brand. I doubt they will let me name what was on the headstock here but I will say it is not any brand I had ever heard of and google searches didn't really produce any useful info. So what's it like? Here's the breakdown: The Decent: The finish is actually pretty well done on the body. The lacquer is smooth and even. It looks pretty bulletproof and is quite attractive. The neck is straight and the set-up wasn't half bad, just needing some minor adjustments. The neck also has a satin, almost bare feeling. It has trap inlays and Gotoh style tuners that aren't too bad. The Neutral: What I got doesn't really match the picture in the details. Instead of a white guitar with gold hardware and black furniture i got a white guitar with silver hardware and cream colored furniture (i.e. the pickguard, the pickup rings, and selector ring). I was ok with the silver hardware but I hated the cream plastics on the stark white body. The pickups aren't great but they aren't terrible. They sound decent for the price. The Bad: The fret ends were so sharp, it was basically unplayable. I had to take care of that right away. Also, when I removed the pickups to replace the rings, the cavities were not clean. They had this weird, fuzzy, thick residue all over the walls. I've never seen anything like it, it was really hard to describe. At some point I'll sand it out but irritates me too know it's still in there. All in all, it's ok. While my expectations were pretty low going in it was still rather disappointing. It's the type of guitar you could sink all kinds of upgrades into and still not be happy with it. If given the option, I wouldn't buy it again.

  • Pretty Nice

all in all this is a bad*ss lookin guitar, you cant go wrong with an lp shape guitar. i played anywhere from funk inspired to death metal and all kinds of pop and blues in between, this guitar can handle it all. its taken a few bad beatings from gigs. still plays great. if youre a beginner looking for a cheap les paul this is the way to go, its a cheap mans gibson, its all in the feel, eyes and ears of the player as to whether you like it. all i can conclude with is good luck and cheers ;)

  • Good solid cheap guitar

OK, let's face it- this is a cheap Chinese Les Paul wannabee. But it was cheap enough that it doesn't really matter. I got one of the sunburst green models and it looks great. It did need some work but luckily enough I have a friend who is a guitar technician. He replaced the nut ( original was very shoddy) and adjusted the neck. pick-ups , and tuners. Now that it has been correctly tweaked it sounds great and has been staying in tune quite well. I would definitely recommend it for any beginner to intermediate player. Just plan on either doing some work or having it done when you get it. But once it's set up right you'll love it.

  • Will White, Black, or any other color come into stock?

    • Items are restocked as they become available, however we cannot guarantee an item will be restocked. Please feel free to check back with us periodically to see if the item has returned.

  • I asked this also about the inexpensive and popular strat copy here (under $100 before shipping and tax, with many color choices): What's the name of the company behind this--the name on the headstock? (Stedman?) The name is hard to make out given the small pics. I might be interested in a somewhat better model from the make....

  • What is the construction of the guitar neck with the guitar body? In other words, is it a Bolt-on neck or a Set-in neck?

  • what is the body sides and the middle? thanks
