great idea but I'm not sure it was worth it. My one cucumber was mushy and I won't eat it. I didn't feel it was fresh picked from a local farmer-more like the store. I wish it had said on the box which farm it came from but it didn't. Just don't know about this one-sorry

I have not tried them form this site yet, but I have been buying from Denton Creek for over 3 years at the Coppell Farmers Market and have yet to have a complaint. The people are friendly, the food is always fresh, and it actually tastes like real food (unlike a tomato from the grocery store). And now they are delivering to my house?? Sign me up!

My first box - actually 2 very large boxes arrived early this morning to my door. The produce is in excellent shape - the best of what I would pick up at the farmers market - along with not one dozen but 2 dozen eggs. This is a bargain- I thought for a moment they gave me 2x shares because of the generous allotment. TRY IT - You will not be disappointed!

So I've had this interesting experience that I have to share. I was browsing around overstock.com a couple of weeks ago probably looking for some sheets or something like that. Bed sheets is just about all I've ever purchased from them for no reason at all. Something caught my eye, probably the suggestions section of the site or whatever, but I noticed an area that suggested that they sold fresh vegetables, and I was thinking "lol I wonder how that would work". So off I clicked... **** On the page, they are offering several price levels of "Produce Picks Farmers Market (Local Delivery)" packages from *** up to *** if you want to include meat (which did not seem to be available in my zip code). The description of the product explains that it is guaranteed certified organic and locally grown. I was going to paste the whole description here but the post got way too long. Needless to say, I thought I would give it a try and see if it delivered what it's offering. 2 weeks ago I ordered the *** box. It had a large head of cabbage, 2 tomatoes, 2 yellow squash, several lemons, several limes, a small bag of potatoes (maybe 1lb), and a couple of other small things like a grapefruit and a couple of apples. It was all very fresh and it was delivered in a cold produce container. I didn't take pictures of the produce because I didn't think it would go anywhere. I used the cabbage and potatoes and made a very good Roasted Cabbage dinner that night (you should be able to see a picture of that in my photos album on Facebook or by scrolling up to May 3rd), we ate the rest of the produce throughout the week. I used the tomatoes in a very good tomato sauce for spaghetti later in the week. I still have 2 lemons. At first I though "This isn't $25 worth of veggies", but the Roasted Cabbage dinner I got out of it was fantastic, and I tend to value my food more at the level of the experience I get from cooking and eating it rather than the actual price tag of the food. Then the fresh fruit in the evening and at lunch, followed by the really great tomato sauce, and I began to see a different $ on this product. So I thought I would give it a 2nd try and ordered the $40 box. I'm very happy I did. It came today and here's what it had in it. I already have plans for the green beans (in the bag, rear left side) and onion tonight (I'll post pictures later) and I'll be making some Zucchini Bread with that Zucchini tomorrow. The tomatoes will go into a pasta, and the potatoes (in the bag, rear left and right of the green beans) and carrots will go in the pot roast that I'll make on Friday. The fruits will be consumed as needed as demonstrated below (Kiwi)! So, 2nd week in, and I'm pretty happy with this service. Check it out of you like to cook and don't like to leave the house.
