I purchased this trash to replace an old CD player. After bringing it home, I registered the purchase with the iSymphony web site. I could not get the system to work because the instructions that came with the unit described the controls with different phrases than existed on the unit. I immediately contacted the manufacturer and received an e-mail that my message was received and I would hear soon. That was a full week ago. I am disgusted with the "service" provided by iSymphany.and with the uselessness of the product. It is being returned to the store tomorrow.
I bought this for Father's Day on behalf of my kids for my husband. Everything appeared to be working until we realized the clock feature was 'dropping' about a 1-2 minutes a day. I've reset it about 3-4 times but it still 'drops time'. I'd read all the reviews before I bought it but naught said about that particular defect although everything else appears to be working ok.
Rather than add a quartz clock mechanism, the manufacturer decided to cheap out and save a few dollars by using the AC frequency. As a result the clock gains about a minute per week, which means it needs to be adjusted periodically.
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Bigger than it looks
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? No - clock is inaccurate
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Excellent with one major flaw
I've been using this now for several months, and now have a good handle on it. It runs fast. About every month to 6 weeks I have to reset the clock. In that span of time it will pick up 3 to 5 minutes. There should also be a dimmer for the display. It's so bright I have to keep it turned away from the bed. The FM reception is OK but very touchy. You'd think with the long FM wire antenna it would be better. It has a LOT of features for a clock radio, maybe too many, so it makes the controls kinda complex. but I've picked up on them now. I had to keep the instruction book on the nightstand for the first month. Dual alarm is nice. Works good with my iPod and CD's. It does have a remote, so I could put it away from the bed so the brightness might no be an issue, and hopefully will get better FM reception. I just have to make a good place for it.
The sound isn't great...a bit tinny but otherwise it does play well. The adapters for the IPOD doesn't come with one for the shuffle. It's not to hard to figure out how to use it. Quite a few buttons on the remote and radio.
This is the third IPOD alarm clock we've tried. This one really does it all. Easy to program, large display, auto off timer. Got the first one, and two days later ordered and another one. Has a remote control also, which the kids like. If I needed more, I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.
Looked all over for something like this, it has the adapters for any Ipod or MP3 players. We use it at work and love the flexibilty.
Great system for the price, I like waking up to music from my CD or IPOD instead of a beeper and it has a very good sound. The large digital numbers look dim at night so it's not a big glare distraction when trying to sleep. This is very important. The operation buttons on the clock are very small so you are forced to use the remote which is also small. Also, you can't just push a button and start the CD player. It goes through a repeat/intro phase that I have not figured out yet. Overall, good alternative to the standard alarm clock.
Can't say enough good things about this-great price for the options. Very easy to operate and takes up very little space. I would recommend this for student's room, office or anywhere space is limited.
If you are looking for a ipod player that has the same feature as a alarm clock, this one is a great choice! I just got this and I;m loving it. The sound might not be as loud (you get what you pay for), but overall its a great product. It plays Ipod, CD(mp3 too), radio, which all can be used in basic alarm clock features. I wake up to my ipod! Simple, all in one product. Does everything I want it too.
