The idea of this item is great. The featurea are good and its easy to use. But the Video quality is real bad! I would tell you to save your money for one of the other more expensice items that do the same thing. That is what I am doing right now!

This does not work to show video from iPod to your TV. The contruction is poor and the cord is not nearly long enough. If you want to connect audio to your stereo and the video to your TV, forget about it.
If you have an iPod you need a connection from the charging source, not the earbud source. I didn't realize it until I got it.

These cables were cheap which is about the best feature. They did not work with my video iPod. The picture was black and white and not clear at all. The sound came through fine but without a good picture this product is useless.

This product was purchased for travel usage only - and that's probably the best use for it. The cords are so thin that I had to continuosly adjust the position of the iPod to get a clear picture. But once I got it in just the right spot, the picture was great. Also, the cord never totally retracted once used. I'll be purchasing a better product for home use.

I tried to purchase this product for the Archos 604 but the tip configurations may have been different between the the Archos and the iPod.
From the tip to the base of the plug it goes from audio(left), audio(right), ground, video. Normally the ground is supposed to be at the base for most 3.5mm to AV plugs but it is actually located one segment before the base. I had no luck with my unit and wound up destroying my cable.
As for those who cannot get the AV cable to work on your iPod, you must enable the video out option in your settings menu. All ipods are defaulted in the off setting for video out, you must turn it on for it to work or you'll just have audio.

I've had great results with this device. I hooked it up to a large screen hi-def television and the results are all my videos only bigger. The resolution is good. I highly recommend getting this. Just make sure your ipod is set for video out.
