holy cow! when i turn this on, it was AMAZING i totally wasnt expecting it to sound soooooooo great! i have used other radio things, but none of them have had the quality that this one has. my dad is a musician and has a degree in music. when he got in the car, he was blown away b/c of how good it sounded! he almost didnt believe me when i told him that it was my new radio hook-up dealio. it sounds soooo good. it sounds like it is a cd b/c of the clarity! i would totally recommend this to ANYONE!!!
I looked over just about all the FM transmitters on the site before deciding on this one, mostly because of the featured review at the top. I was a little worried when I got it because it was just in a cheap blister pack and has a very basic, badly translated manual, but all my doubts went away once I tried it out and heard the amazing sound quality for myself. The last one I had just ran on AAA batteries and you had to put it in just the right spot in the car to get decent sound, but even then it only worked outside the city. I live in Atlanta and there was so much interference that I couldn't use it on any setting without getting tons of static when I was near downtown. I've only been using this a day so far but in all the driving I've done I've never heard the slightest bit of static, and there's even been times when I could hear a radio station pretty clearly with it turned off but could hear the music loud and clear the second I turned it on. It also has some nice features that allow it to work with pretty much any portable music player, though it's really best if you have an iPod. It has a single cord at the bottom that hooks to the dock port to both charge the iPod and transmit the music, but it can charge and play almost any device. It has a USB connector on the bottom for charging plus a headphone jack and small cable with headphone connectors at both ends, so you can hook one end to this device and the other to the headphone jack on your MP3 player. Because of that I could even hook my Blackberry to it and it would work fine, so there's really a ton of possibilities. All in all I'm really pleased with it so far, but like I said I've only had it for a day so I'll have to see how long it holds up. I wish it were a little smaller, but that's more because of where my cigarette lighter is in the car than anything else. Even then it has 2 bends between the plug and the unit so you can adjust how it sits, and there are screws you can tighten to lock it in place once you have it where you like it.
This product is definitely worth the price. I received it within 4 days of ordering it, and although there aren't many instructions, it was very easy to figure out. I'd been a little concerned because my mp3 player is not an ipod and the transmitter would not fit it, but connecting it to the headphone jack worked just as well. The adjustable docking keeps it in place, and I've had great reception on multiple stations. I didn't expect much for the price, but was extremely satisfied.
I am so glad I got this. I bought an expensive one a year ago & there were so many instructions I gave up and returned it. The clarity is good and I havent had any problems yet.
I loved this product until yesterday. I've had it for about 6 months now & all of a sudden yesterday it just quit working. I guess for the price 6 months of use wasn't so bad but I would have liked it to have lasted a little longer.
I was so excited to get mine....I couldn't wait to use it. I was so disappointed that it didn't work. I followed the very simple directions...everything was plugged in...but when I went to try the radio stations all I got was silence. I tried various stations, figgeted with my MP3 player numerous times...still no go. I sure wish it did work...but my experience with it gives it a thumbs down.
Received it, took it out of the package, and the piece of junk didnt even work. Very disappointed.
I have yet to have this proguct work with my iPod, despite countless attempts. A total and complete waste of money.
We purchased this and it came literally as we were leaving for a 2 week trip. We plugged it into our truck power outlet and snugged our Ipod into it-it charged the Ipod and worked flawlessly. It is easily adjustable. It blocked one cupholder in our Ford F350, but it was well worth it to listen to all our music. No issues in any location (rural or urban) finding a station and we traveled through 4 states. It was on 88.1 most of the time. Very good quality for the price. The Ipod hoilder adjusts for a secure fit and it is padded.
ok away from the city, but while in and around the city, lots of noise and static. I need to buy a car stereo with aux input. so if you are in the city this is not a good buy
I bought an $80 model but this is easier and works pretty much the same. My expectation is not perfection, because working through a radio you are subject to radiowaves, no matter how expensive the model is, however, I am very pleased and enjoy having all my music near without having to have the clutter of CD's. Thanks Overstock!
I purchased this for my boyfriend and he enjoys it for his car. One down fall to it is that it has to sit on your dash. The wire is so short that you can not utilize it in too many of the car outlets. However it does the trick and he is happy with the product.
Pros: Transmits through FM - no wire mess, holds your MP3, charges while playing music. Good sound quality, just make sure you are tuned to the station with no statics. This one is much less in price and more in features than other models I've researched. Cons: Depend on where the power outlet in your car is situated, it can be in the way of the gear shift or not enough space to plug in the device. The power plug prong on the device is in 2 segments that changes angle to plug in outlet. It requires 2 screws tight to make it stationed. However, the screws may become loosen when over tighten thus the device will be whobling back and forth. Over all, it is a good buy. Use it carefully and for safety...don't make any adjustments while driving.
Horrible, this has frozen my MP3 player. Therefore I would not recommend this item to anyone. I guess you get what you pay for. This along with the speakers for listening at work is a waste of money. I
I would not recommend this item. The display does not work all the time and the sound quality transmitted wasn't very clear. There are other products that are better for a few dollars more. I think I wasted my money.
This is a wonderful little gizmo. The sound is clear and consistent and I don't have to use my earphones to listen to my music--it just comes out of the car stereo! I used to have a battery operated transmitter that was kind of hit and miss; but this surpasses that one by miles.
It made listening to the IPOD while traveling an ease. If only the thing had a remote. You just plug it in, set the station and press play on your IPOD and you are ready to hit the road. Very convenient.
Bought two (for daughter and wife). Works great in both cars. The best deal and product in Overstock.com. I'm going to buy one for myself. It does work with an IPOD Shuffle--however, it won't charge simultaneously because of the Shuffle's design. I hesitated to purchase this for months because of my optimism. I can tell you don't hesitate one more second. This product really does work great. Hope this helps!
This is the 3rd transmitter I've had for my iPod. The first was a Griffen, and was way too complicated to use in the car. The second was an off-brand and broke after a few months' use. This one has much better sound quality than both of my previous ones, and seems quite a bit sturdier than both of them as well.
I love it so much, that I ordered another one for a gift. Very clear sound and easy to use.
