these headphones are awesome and very stylish. i would recommend to anyone looking for a solid pair of headphones. they block out a lot of backround noise and double as earmuffs in the winter. they fit snuggly around your ears. when worn around your neck and have music playing on full volume its like having a concert in your face, people who are 10 feet away can clearly hear what you are listening to. i often make fun of my friends who decided on purchasing skull candy headphones for the same price but half the quality. my only complaint that kept it from getting 5 stars is when playing on full volume and listening to a song with a deep bass you can hear small amount of static.
These look great and the cord is more robust than most headphones under $100. I bought a pair and I immediately noticed that while they look nice at first glance, the fit and finish was poor. When I first played them, the left channel sounded terrible; on any bass passage the driver produced massive distortion, indicating a blown driver. I returned them for a replacement. Unfortunately, with the replacement phones the R channel sounds to be about half the volume of the L channel, with very little bass output. I will return them, but for a refund this time, no third chance. I have a lot of headphones (Grado, Sennheiser, Beyer, AKG), so I know how a quality headphone should sound. While the ZAGG phones look as nice as some headphones that cost several hundred dollars, there is just no excuse for the drivers to be blown or unbalanced straight out of the box, even for a lower priced headphone. I have purchased similarly inexpensive headphones from Skullcandy and iFrogz for my kids, and while they don't sound like Grados they never had these kind of issues. The ZAGGs are nicely designed but poorly put together with inadequate QC. I hope ZAGG gets their act together and fixes this problem, because they can beat the competition at this price point. To the extent I could judge the sound with one side working properly, the sound is dry and punchy, clean and articulate for an under $100 headphone, so yes, they have potential.
