I had broken all the pins on the PCMCIA slot for my wireless card and my older laptop had no place for an internal wireless adapter, so I thought I would have to buy a new notebook,to be able to go wireless. Fortunately, this simple and inexpensive USB adapter got me back in the game. Windows XP easily "saw" the device and self installed it: I highly recommend using the Windows Zero Configuration Service to manage this type of device. The unit is small enough to be unobtrusive and, with a 90 degree adapter, it lays flat against the back of the laptop. I"ve been up to 500 feet away from my router and signal strength is still 100%, so I think coverage is pretty good. I highly recommend this device as an inexpensive(under $30) alternative to other types of wireless adapters. Also, at 54Mbps, its speed is more than adequate for most needs.

I bought this for my adult daughter's computer. She knows a lot more about computers than I do. It took her several attempts to get the installation completed properly. After several unsuccessful attempts, she realized that she had to disable the previous adapter settings that were in use prior to this new adapter. She is up and running and is most satisfied with the product.

Overstock.com offered the best price anywhere on a wireless USB adaptor. This product comes with a CD for very easy installation and startup. I have been very pleased with the range and signal pickup of this device. It works consistently and reliably and has allowed me to move my modem and router to my TV room for satellite TV downloads and live gaming for my sons. For the price, you can't beat this product.
I am 1 floor up from my router and reception is poor. It was fairly easy to install and performs well when there's reception, but even without my PC moving, it goes in and out of service. I would recommend anyone in my shoes to get either an 802.11n or at least an antenna.

My home office/computer, etc. are in the basement, which means anytime I want to respond to work issues, down to the basement I went. So, when I saw this Wireless Lan USB Adapter, I thought, why not give it a try since I had an un-used, somewhat older laptop stored away. Well, I am pleased to write that the adapter arrived, I plugged it into the old laptop and within 2 minutes I was up and running. Now, emails, banking, web searching, etc., can be handled from any room in my home. I'm looking forward to bringing my laptop on trips - which will save me lots of time and money. I find myself using the laptop more and using my blackberry less because of course the screen and key pad, etc., are larger. This is just a fantastic tool. And, might I add - for the price.....it's just a great deal, and great tool.

I purchased this for providing a multi-media computer connection near my entertainment center. The range isn't all that great and I've had some problems with compatibility (Dell Desktop - Optiplex just hates this thing, connects/disconnects, HP is rock steady).I wouldn't use this for my main computer, but it works good in a pinch.

I received the item about 4 days after I ordered it. This wireless USB adapter came with an installation CD. I put both in my computer (desktop with XP) and it only took seconds to set up. I was able to pick up connections very quickly as well. The software interface is very straight forward and easy to navigate. It doesn't come with a cap (as shown in the picture). If you turn off your computer every time you're done using it, you might want to give the adapter a couple minutes to pick up the Internet connection when you boot up your computer.

I never got my second computer on line. After installing it, It showed to be getting good signal from my router but no matter what I did, I never was able to connect to the internet. Could be my computer but I can't be sure because there is no manufacturer for this adapter to contact for support or to troubleshoot my problem. Therefore, it is useless to me. I wish I had considered the manufacturer before I purchased it.
