We have 4 of these scanners and they work great. We scan lots of documents directly to PDFs for archive and email. Each one has come with a slightly different version of the Paperport software. I am sure they are trying to improve but for me I would rather they were all the same. This one came with the "newest" version and it had problems with Win XP pro. I called their support and thought I had it worked out but it was not. A number of the features have a quick access button that comes up in the tool bar as well as drop downs on the main screen. Oddly the quick access buttons work fine but the drop downs do not. Tech support said they made this new version to fix things in Vista. We don't run any Vista machines yet because I know there are lots of glitches and problems with it and a lot of software. Short story is that the scanner works great from the tool bar but I am annoyed that the primary way to access the same features doesn't work. The scanner is great and is fast. There are faster scanners but not for this price.
