This is an older card or less powerful one than the upgraded one I originally ordered with my seven year old Dell Dimension 8300 ( ATI 128mb DDR Radeon 9800 Pro Rev:A01-00 Part Number 109-A07500-00).

Nice piece of hardware for a machine that needed a little boost in the graphics. Excellent value for the price and an easy install. Considering the same for another machine of mine. An economical way to keep my older PC looking good. Everything just looks better with the new card.

I bought this card to add a second monitor to a six year old Sony VAIO desktop. It's worked out fine so far. Note that the card does have a fan and will make your system slightly noisier.

The software driver integration did not exhibit issues seen in lower end accelerated graphics cards (e.g. GTX 580). You won't get the increase in frame rate expected unless your application specifically uses the extra graphics horsepower available in this card. However, it will allow your application to increase texture resolutions and video processing affects like anti-aliasing.

I needed to upgrade the graphics on an older computer so my son could play Starcraft II. I have owned other cards manufactured by XFX and they have all worked well. I uninstalled the old graphics drivers and then removed the the old graphics card. I then installed the new XFX card and started the computer. The hardware wizard allowed me to select the drivers on the included CD. After the drivers were installed, I restarted the computer and everything was good to go. Many an hour has been spent playing Starcraft II and the card has worked flawlessly.
