Hello everyone. This card is very good at what is intended to do, and at a very good value. I recently lost my job so I had to return my 60" HDTV to the leasing place and must now run all my entertainment through my PC. Not so fun. This card allows you to watch cable television and play game consoles on a PC, which is awesome, but there are some things you should know. First: The TV tuner will ONLY work in a WINDOWS XP 32bit operating system. Second: The drivers and WinTV2000 app must both be installed for the computer to "see" the TV card. Third: WinTV2000's (the TV viewing program) picture quality is awful. Use DScaler instead. Google it. Forth: Consoles will hook up to it, but are a tad fuzzy. Nothing horrible. Fifth: Occasionally, some channels will have a "low" or "no signal". Usually not a problem. Also, Hauppauge, the manufacturer of this card, is VERY prompt in replying to help e-mails. I was trying to figure this thing out on my own (assuming that support would be awful), I...

It was about time to replace my old 480, and this was a very nice upgrade. The 770 is essentially an improved version of the 680, but for much less. That said it is still pretty pricey, so a 760 might be the better choice for most. Still, I do not regret getting this at all. It is significantly more powerful, uses less power, makes less noise, and runs about 20 degrees (Celsius) lower than the 480 did at load. I have yet to play a game that the card can't handle at max settings aside from poor console ports that weren't optimized for PC. Looking at you Assassin's Creed series. (Still runs great, but there is a lot of NPC pop in when running around. This is the game engine's fault though). If I had the cash to spare I'd pick up a second one for SLI. I'll probably still end up doing that anyway.

  • HP 5188-7344 ATSC TV PCI Low Profile Tuner Card

Contrary to what the other review says, this card works great with all Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 that have the Windows Media Center add on. (Windows Vista & Windows 7 comes with Windows Media Center, you must buy it extra with Windows 8) The 5188-7344 drivers are all included with Windows. Once you attach an antenna and do the first time Windows Media Center setup, your PC is now an HDTV Digital Video Recorder for all the local Digital TV stations in your area. To find out what kind of antenna you'll need and what stations you can get, go to the Consumer Electronics Association and National Broadcasters Association web site, http://www.antennaweb.org/

This TV card is good but don't come with any software or drivers outside of the standard plug-n-play built into most OS's. For me next time i will spend a little bit more and get a factory boxed card with the drivers and software. Over all for the price its worth it.

Needed to split and hdmi signal to a dvi-input plasma tv that runs 1080i. I was a little concerned about bringing this older tv into the internet streaming era but the setup worked flawlesslyt.
