Just opened a new account with Overstock. Purchased new furniture a couple of days ago. I had a pleasant experience shopping with Overstock initially. Today I went to look at this TV pictured above. Something in my mind told me to shop around before I bought it, and of course, it was for MUCH less at several competitors. I called Overstock and they told me they do NOT price match any competitor whatsoever. In such a competitive market I was so shocked to hear someone say that. Why wouldn't a company want to price match a new item for a customer. Repeat business, anyone? The woman continued to place me on hold going back and forth to her managers who just kept telling her no and not really explaining why. I asked to speak with one of them and it was essentially denied. The woman on the phone was very friendly and nice, and I could tell that she felt very uncomfortable because they were not giving her clear instructions and reasonings as to why. Needless to say I will be denying shipment of my new furniture and closing my Overstock credit account as soon as those pieces are credited back. I dislike like gray areas when it comes to customer service, and this company seems like it has a lot of them.
