I tried to use this cable to send video from my laptop to my lcd tv. I had a problem in that my laptop(hp dv6000) won't allow output to an external monitor via VGA unless it is VGA to VGA. When I try to change the monitor output(fn F4 on my computer) it won't respond unless I am hooked up to a VGA port on the turned on TV or regular computer monitor. It would not send any data through the VGA port to the RCA connection. (My notebook monitor would not go blank as it does with a direct VGA to VGA conection, that is the basis of my diagnosis.)You may or may not have this problem with your computer if you try to send to RCA via this cable. Just a heads up. I really can't comment on the cable itself, as I could not really test.

Great working connecter. if you need something like this, you can't beat it.

Your PC video card must support TV out as those TV signals appear on unused pins of the video card VGA connector where you attach this cable.

this item dosent work!!!! i hooked it up and it dosent work then i searched it and there is no way to run VGA signals thru S video it works off of different color patterns

It didn't work-that's it in a nutshell. I plugged the monitor into one end and a video composite link to the TV. There were a lot of colorful lines on the screen and some static and nothing else. I also tried to hook it up through my digital recorder and VCR ports with the composite links. Same thing -- just a garbled screen with rolling colors in the background. I would not suggest buying this.

At first I was happy thinking this would work. I was wanting to go from a laptop to a TV. I DJ and it was for a Karaoke setup, but video signal just was just lines and scramble. Maybe for something else it would work,but for me just a waste of money.

Bought this item. Received failrly quick from Overstock. When I pluged it in from my laptop to my tv, signal does not show clearly. I tried using the S-video or the RCA but got the same result. it looks like it is pulling a signal but the picture does not come in.
