You get what you pay for...
Save your money, don't waste it on this product. It seems like a good deal, a dashboard mount for your phone or GPS device at a cheap price. Well... you really do "get what you pay for." Even though I only paid $*.** for this item, I can honestly say I've gotten better value out of that price. The mounting stand is secured to your dashboard (or whatever else you plan on setting it on) via a sticky rubbery pad. I would hate to see what happens to this stuff if you leave it out in direct hot sunlight for too long. The packaging has no markings of any sort, just a small plain thin white box. It contains absolutely NO information about the manufacturer other than the ever-so-lovely "Made In China" sticker on the base plate. This is junk, if you need something like this for your vehicle, I strongly suggest you spend the extra money and get a nice one. I originally bought this for my sister who just got a new car, but I think I will end up giving it away as a cheap, Secret Santa "I don't really like you jerks," gag gift. Thanks for the ultra-generic cast off merchandise Overstock! Enjoy those * dollars! I need a drink...

The effectiveness of the holding power diminishes in time and is affected by temperature. Wished it turned vertical so I could attach the charger. With my Garmin, I could not plug in the charger without hanging it halfway off the holder.
