I PURCHASED THIS SCANNER FOR MY WIFE AS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT. SHE WAS AMAZED AT THE CLARITY AND THE EASE OF OPERATION. SHE AND I BOTH ENJOYED PROGRAMMING AND DISCOVERING THE NEW RECEPTION THIS ITEM HAD. I SHOPPED AROUND, AND I WAS SURPRISED AT HOW CHEAP OVERSTOCK WAS ABLE TO OFFER IT TO IT'S CUSTOMERS. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS TO ALL "SCANNER FANS". WE DID A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE OLD AND NEW UNITS, AND FOUND THAT THE NEW UNIT WAS PICKING UP MANY MORE CALLS THAN THE OLD ONE. I ALSO ENJOYED THE ACCESORIES I RECEIVED WITH THIS UNIT. I CAN USE IT IN MY VEHICLE ,AS WELL AS MY HOME WITH ONLY MINOR TRANSITION.TO SUM IT UP, I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS UNIT TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN POLICE OR FIRE/EMS SCANNERS!
I have been in the emergency biz as a career for many years and have acquired many scanners and radios. Uniden is always at the top of the list. This unit has many very good and user friendly features. It takes a bit to learn the programming [which I recommend to truly get your local frequencies without unneccessary interferrance], but after that it works great. Trunk Tracking is more widely used all the time and this unit does a very good job of picking it up. Strong reception. It is now mounted in my personal and off duty rescue truck. Very good buy.
