Excellent buy with great reception. I can pick up the local police from a town about 15 minutes from my home. Clear reception on local police and fire. The battery will last approximately 8-9 hours and I'm using two rechargeable batteries that I found cheap at a local dollar store and I charge it with the included power adapter with no problem. I would buy another one if this one messed up!

This scanner was given as a gift. It took time to program but that wasn't difficult. Very cool gift!

the scanner itself is good. The range is great and clarity on communications. There is a con however and that is with the owners booklet. The booklet gives instructions on how to program the scanner. However, the instructions are incorrect.

I ordered BC95XLTB scanner but I received a BC95XLT scanner instead. The BC95XLT is an older discontinued model. The product was in good working condition but it was not the model that was listed and I feel that is mis-leading. II am going to keep the product but I would have liked to get the newer model that was listed and promised. I am unsure of buying from overstock.com in the future because when I purchase an item I would like it to be the model that I paid for.

I have recieved this item in reasonable shipment timing and then I purchased some high quality energiser rechargeables for mobile useage and all has worked great since the purchase. If you want a scanner with great mobile/PC and user friendly ability this is just for you. I suggest programming any freequencies on your own you should have the manual by your side at all times. Other than that just buy it now you'll love it like I do. Monitor any channel you want. Just buy it.

First off, I am not tech savvy. However I bought it 2 weeks before I needed it for a Nascar race. I played with it everyday to get the drift of it. It was difficult to program, However, I took it to the race and went to the racing electronics booth and they programmed it for me for a few bucks. worked like a charm, better than renting.

I'm an occasional user of this scanner so I couldn't justify hundreds of dollars for a professional unit. I have been pleasantly surprised with the performance. I do recommend upgrading the antenna and matching it to the frequencies that you listen to. I purchased an adjustable antenna and it has made a tremendous difference in the range. I use it mainly for rail fanning There is a learning curve to programming and switching bands so I recommend keeping the instructions handy until it becomes second nature I can't comment much on battery life since I mainly use a convertor whenever I listen mobile but so far it seems reasonable for the limited use it has had on batteries.

This radio provides clear communication with the race tower. It fits nicely in the pocket of my race suit.

This is a great radio.fairly easy to find what you are wanting to listen to.

I think this is a good scanner overall. It was easy to program channels. It works well. I've had one minor problem that the scanner goes into hold mode on its own rather than continuing to scan, but this is infrequent. The scanner works well otherwise. It gets good reception, but an external antenna may be needed depending on your terrain.

I purchased this scanner as a replacement to one my friend lent me. In the area I live in, scanners or CB's are part of regular day life. The signal is clear and there is more than enough room for all the channels we require with this unit and they were easy to install. The back light on the display is really nice. I have rechargeable batteries in this and it is working very nicely. We had a long power outage this weekend and the batteries still maintained all the information I programmed into it. I would definitely recommend this unit to others.
