Bought as birthday present for friend. She needed a cd player...hers died. Also, had long given up her VCR because she thought she'd never use it again, but regretted it. (we tried to watch a movie that is only avail in VHS tape...yes, there are some) This was easy to hook up for her, and of course, with her old receiver and speakers to it, she uses it as a cd player, too! ( the DVD unit can be used for CD's). So, can't beat the price. She said it is very 'cool' looking.....like new electronic styling. Another great deal from the O!
This is a great little machine!!!! I am not technology oriented and I was able to hook it up, figure out how to use it, and pleasantly surprised at the marvelous picture it played from DVD's that did not show well on my big set. This is a quality product, that performs perfectly and even looks great!!!!
First, I will say that this player meets my needs for my classroom, since the school district is no longer purchasing VHS players. The DVD drop-down cover does not close (broken spring), and I can't rewind part of VHS video while playing it - I must stop and then rewind and then play again. Could I return it? Sure - but it's OK for what I need.
I know that vhs tapes are a thing of the past, but I still needed a machine to play the ones I have, so this was a great purchase. You can't beat the price, and setup could not have been easier...Iiterally from opening the box to watching movies was under two minutes.
