Toshiba DR570

i621148 from Kansas City, Jan 27, 2010

I actually bought this to be able to run cable out to my TV through HDMI and use the analog audio to connect to my old 1980s Onkyo stereo (as my TV does not have analog audio out.) I figured I should get something useful as well so I picked a DVR as the component to do it. I have found some lag between audio put out through HDMI at 1080p and the analog audio which is somewhat annoying. This may be due to my TV only being 720p. Other than that I really enjoy the product and it is super easy to use and program. I like the 30 second instant skip feature. I also use it to upconvert my xbox to HDMI and as a video component switcher.

Good value but hard to program

gbuck1 from Oconomowoc, WI, Dec 9, 2009

My DR570 setup was very easy and disc format doesn't take very long. I can't get it to program at regular intervals automatically like daily or weekly TV shows. Manual isn't much help at all. Had I known I wouldn't have purchased it.

Toshiba does it again!

This is a great replacement for the good old VCR. Easy to use and works great. Makes some noise when recording - but overall it's great.
