I decided to do something after the cable company took another price increase that includes the rental charge for a DVR. I looked here and found this model. It looked brand new as there wasn't any sign of use. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but was able to record a kid's movie for the grandsons. Just take your time and read the manual over and over and over and it finally makes sense.

The only thing was that the product was lacking better instructions and of course one has to buy separately cable connection. Aside from that, I;ve had it for 2 weeks and is working good.

This DVD recorder does everything I'd want it to do. It's easy to set up and use. I had to, however, locate and download the user manual on line. I only wish I'd purchased one with a TV tuner, although I'm not sure how it would work with cable, as I can not watch one show while recording another and have to set the cable box to the channel I want to record before leaving. Once recorded, the show or VCR tape is easy to edit.

worked as represented - hooked up easily to my Direct TV reciever and amp. Because there was no instuction manual, it has to be downloaded, operations took awhile to learn. All in all a good value.
