  • Good ---- But

    I have owned a Tom Tom One XL for over three years. It does a great job of getting me from point A to point B, but it does have a couple of faults / drawbacks: First, it works great as long as the power cord is plugged into the cigarette lighter, but the batteries die as soon as the lighter connection is disconnected --- it comes right back to life as soon as it is plugged in again. Second: When you plug it in to your computer and go to the Tom Tom website, map updates ARE NOT FREE --- THEY COST SOMETHING LIKE $18.00 PER QUARTER, OR ALMOST $80 A YEAR ! Why pay $80 a year for updates to a device that cost you $$ ?
