Frustrating at times Our first GPS was a Magellan. We miss it. The TomTom has many good points, except a wrong touch and you lose the map and get just the directions and it is near impossible to the map back. There are too many unnecessary choices. We really miss the sound the Magellan gives at the point to turn that proves that is the place to turn. No such warning sound on the TomTom. That frustrates my husband the most because it makes him feel unsure of the turn he made. Once I get it working it want to set it on the dash, but any squeeze and the map disappears and I have to start all over again. A good thing is that the sound can be made loud enough to hear while driving.

Human Being First Class My TomTom and I have an extremely close relationship. It tells me how to get where I need to be in a calm and detailed manner. It has only failed me once, after a long trip it told me to get off the highway in heavy rain to save time by taking another road. That advice was so awful the poor thing had a mental breakdown and just kept telling me to get off at an exit that I'd passed some time earlier -I went back and tried to follow instructions but poor TomTom kept going back to the road I'd already been on! Luckily there were lots of places to stop for help and I eventually got back on the Interstate and got home safely. That was the one and only time I've had a problem - I think it will be just fine the next time I use it. I really trust this thing it has given me such great easy to follow directions.

My first functional GPS I originally purchased a Magellan GPS which turned out to be a mistake due to the faulty system (although I will admit the Magellan team did everything they could to help). Overstock made it very simple to return the item and I purchased this instead. I am very happy with it. Simple to set up, great locked mounting to either window or dashboard, and minus the slight lag in touching buttons (have to hold it a second before it registers a character), I give this product and Overstock an A.
