Love it - so easy to operate - gives plenty of warning to change lanes to exit

For someone who just moved to a new town, GPS is always a help. However, the system really needs more localized information -- I have not been out that much, and so far I have encountered two occasions when I entered the street address and the system did not recognize the street name at all. There are not many "points of interest" stored for the area. The system also does not tell you when you need to do a "Michigan left," and from time to time it would tell me to turn right where right turn isn't allowed. Overall I am rather disappointed with this product -- aside from indicating a general direction, it is often useless in guiding me on my way somewhere. I still need to resort to Google maps or Yahoo maps beforehand and figure things out by myself as I go. The screen display and audio quality are nice, though.

I received my Tom Tom as a gift for Christmas '07. Within a year the sound was going. First it would come in and out and then it just quit. Called the 800 number and they helped me delete and reload the application. Fast forward a few months, same problem! I called the 800 number again and did the same thing only this time it didn't work. Since the GPS is over 1 year old the best they can do is offer me a $50.00 coupon off of another one.........if I still have the proof of purchase. I don't travel a lot but I do like to have it for short trips as I am geographically challenged! Having said that, this unit got very, very little use. I would say less than 10 times in a year, and most of those were local trips because the kids got a kick out of seeing and hearing it. I don't think it's made to last. If you travel often I wouldn't count on it.

I bought this Tom Tom for my boyfriend for Valentines Day. I am very happy with it. He uses it all the time. It has also helped me get to my new job. Fast on shipping. I and my boyfriend are very pleased with this purchase. I would recommend it to anyone. I also love the way it shows all the streets names as you pass them. Happy in Ohio.. I also plan on becomming a member of Overstock.com

I have always had travel angst...there is nothing more dreadful than trying to stay on course while fumbling with maps at 70 miles per hour. Tom Tom was very easy to set up...easy to use and completely reliable. Peace of mind electronics...

This is my third Tom Tom. This one was purchased as a gift and the recipient is very happy with it. It replaced a Garmin that was stolen and they feel it is much better and easier to use.

I was worried about learning to use the deviice. Piece of cake even for a 78 year old. The touch screen and instructions walked me through my first attempt to travel to my first destination. This thing is a God send for older drivers.

When I bought the Tom Tom One XL GPS Navigation System I used it right out of the box and was very easy to use. I've used other types of Nav Systems and this is by far the best and easiest to use it got me right to the address I typed in. If your thinking about buying a Navigation System then this is the one u should buy. You will love it and never leave home with out it.

The first XL i purchased died in 1month. I exchanged it and the new one seemed fine until i tried to update the maps because it sent me to a wrong location. Now i can only get maps of Guam! Since i live in NY this is a problem. They are aware of the problem (due to many complaints) but they do not have a patch for the problem. So if you decide to purchase please do not try to update the maps online becasue it will wipe out your USA and Canada maps and their support staff has not been able to fix the problem.

SO FAR SO GOOD WITH THE TOM TOM ONE XL. IT IS USER FRIENDLY. MY 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER SAYS IT IS SIMPLE TO OPERATE. I ALSO LIKE THE IDEA OF THE 2 YEAR WARRANTY. MY LAST GPS SYSTEM (NOT A TOM TOM) DIED AFTER 1 YEAR 4 MONTHS. ERRRR. THE ONLY THING I AM NOT REALLY HAPPY WITH IS I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO AN A/C CHARGER INSTEAD OF HAVING TO CHARGE USING THE COMPUTER USB PORT OR THE CAR. OTHERWISE EXTREMELY SATISFIED.

OMG, I am grateful that I had made this purchase. I am new to the city and I am awful with driving directions. Tom Tom is my new best friend. I take it every where I go. I used to always go to Mapquest, but in doing so it would never tell you about the current traffic updates. With Tom Tom, there is no issue at all. It gives you the quickest routes and it gives you the best detour in case of road blockage. It is a little bit confusing at times trying to change information, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes like second nature. I gurantee that upon purchasing you will too fall in love with this product.

I purchsed this TOM TOM for my wife for Mother,s Day. It is an overall good product but does not reconfigure routes easily. Programmed correctly 5 times! One trip was using Garden State Parkway New Jersey as the most direct route and the navigation system constantly took me off this route and added 45 minutes to 1 hour time! 7 times trying to reroute to Parkway and 8th time somewhat figured it out...good thing I knew where I was going! Since my purchase I've heard great things about other brands. This one may be returned. Lost en route

I found the GPS easy to set up except there was a problem on the set up disk. You have to call the factory because the setup disk is not up to date to do the setup. It is a problem on shelf life for the product. Once you get over that I found that if you make a comparison with the other GPS manufacturers out there you will notice that TomTom has the longest warranty on their product. Once I set it up for my husband to use, he really enjoyed using it on the 1100 mile trip that we just took to Florida. We did not argue over what turn to take , we let the Dart Veda direct us down to Fla and The Don on the return. I would recommend this product for ease of operation, price, and product support.

I've only had my TomTom GPS a few weeks but have thoroughly enjoyed it. The feature options for points of interest, gas stations, restaurants, etc. are exceptional. I've tried to confuse it by taking different roads but it gets right back on track with ease. I did have a little difficulty first programming it but I still can't complain about it. The larger display screen is great. The volume setting according to driving speed is a welcome touch. I can't wait to use it when I go on vacation to Florida. I have already programmed in places I plan to visit. Great item for a great price.
