Nice price and size of product; however, I would request more detailed written instruction in the owners manual. Features are hard to figures out what does what. Additionally, I would recommend an on line internet tutorial not just what the functions do but an actual demonstration. Would have been helpful in making my decision before I purchased this one.

The first XL i purchased died in 1month. I exchanged it and the new one seemed fine until i tried to update the maps because it sent me to a wrong location. Now i can only get maps of Guam! Since i live in NY this is a problem. They are aware of the problem (due to many complaints) but they do not have a patch for the problem. So if you decide to purchase please do not try to update the maps online becasue it will wipe out your USA and Canada maps and their support staff has not been able to fix the problem.

I have a different brand GPS, and needed one with a larger screen for my parents. They are in there late 70's and late 80's I wanted them to be able to see the screen and operate the GPS with ease. It took a few trys on there own to get the hang of it. Now they love the system. I think they use the GPS now just to show off. I'm sure that there are better, and worse units out there, but I couldn't try them all. This will get you there and it's not hard to understand and thats all I could ask for.

The TomTom oneXL is an excellent product thus far. I have but one complaint, which turned out well for me. There is no case available for the "oneXL" anywhere in the United States. Not on Overstock, in any store or even through the TomTom company. I called TomTom and it is available in Europe they located the case in Portugal, but they will not ship to the US. The case is valued at $24.99 plus tax and shipping whenever it becomes available. The company told me on the phone they have no idea when or if it will be available here in the US. They also told me they have no idea why it is not available here. The good news is that I went to a "Dollar" type store and bought a $3.00 camera case which the "OneXL" fits into just fine so I saved myself $22.00. Who needs the dopey unavailable "OneXL" case?

Excellent GPS from Tom Tom. Screen size is great and very legible. Voices can be changed which is a delight

When I bought the Tom Tom One XL GPS Navigation System I used it right out of the box and was very easy to use. I've used other types of Nav Systems and this is by far the best and easiest to use it got me right to the address I typed in. If your thinking about buying a Navigation System then this is the one u should buy. You will love it and never leave home with out it.

I USED THE TOM TOM A FEW DAYS AFTER I RECEIVED IT [ON A TRIP TO ANOTHER STATE] AND IT WAS WONDERFUL. ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING FEATURES IS THAT IT ALERTS YOU TO THE PROPER LANE TO BE IN TWO MILES BEFORE YOU NEED TO EXIT OR TURN.

This is such a great idea & certainly needed by me. I went into the search/purchase knowing only that I wanted a larger sized screen and portablility. This item succeeds in both areas. Sometimes it gives names of roads that are incorrect. Wish there was a way to notify manufacturer of these errors. Also, it doesn't seem to adapt to change of route too easily but perhaps I just haven't figured it out yet. Definitely needs a protective carrying/storage case. Nice product, I'm glad I bought it.

This is my third Tom Tom. This one was purchased as a gift and the recipient is very happy with it. It replaced a Garmin that was stolen and they feel it is much better and easier to use.

I was worried about learning to use the deviice. Piece of cake even for a 78 year old. The touch screen and instructions walked me through my first attempt to travel to my first destination. This thing is a God send for older drivers.

OMG, I am grateful that I had made this purchase. I am new to the city and I am awful with driving directions. Tom Tom is my new best friend. I take it every where I go. I used to always go to Mapquest, but in doing so it would never tell you about the current traffic updates. With Tom Tom, there is no issue at all. It gives you the quickest routes and it gives you the best detour in case of road blockage. It is a little bit confusing at times trying to change information, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes like second nature. I gurantee that upon purchasing you will too fall in love with this product.

I had been shopping around for a GPS and found this one at a price I liked. Hard to beat the price for the features and quality of this unit. I'm a clumsy person and have dropped this unit several times already and not had any problems. After plugging it into the computer and setting it up I drove backroads trying to get lost. I was suprised that this unit had all of these country back roads. My only complaint is that it asks me to update the software program on the computer every couple days. I just dont see the need to download the new roads being built across the country every 36 hours.

The item is great, but the way the features were listed lead me to believe there was more functionality and I would like to return this one for the next level up. I like the item, just need more functionality than this model provides.

Excellent product. Easy to use and visually excellent on showing your directions. I highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a GPS.

It has saved me an amazing amount of time...The only way I can think of to make it better would be to allow me to speak to it... Truthfully though, I have found one error in the maps - it happens to be the location of my work. One XL told me to turn right instead of left. THEN it allowed me to correct it. And it didn't complain one bit...

Is a fenomenal GPS Navigation sistem, I never change for another. This Is the ease to read, ease to operation, and great in night.

Purchased an identical TomTom One XL because mines was stolen, mid-day, while parked in Georgetown Shops “Colonial (underground) Parking Garage.” I think a worker took it, so beware. Anyway, I love it, but I’m biased since I had one before. Although I'm in my late 20s, I’m not tech savvy and it’s very easy to operate. One of my favorite features is its ability to calculate alternate routes, so if you run into traffic it will map out another path, enabling you to take the nearest exit ramp. Or, if you simply want to avoid part of your route (i.e. you’d rather not take New York Avenue into DC) you highlight that part of the directions and it will map out a new direction. Times and distance automatically updates. If you change your mind you can click "recalculate original route" and everything goes back to the way it was. Cons…My old TomTom One XL occasionally didn’t recognize certain streets and newly constructed developments, leaving me to fend for myself. I think you can connect your GPS to a computer and download recent maps and stuff, so I might try doing that with this one.
