Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX for Nikon AF

I typed a long review which got lost when I tried to submit, so, I'll just sum it up: I've shot several wide lenses on D200's and D300's (Nikkor and Sigma as well) and this is easily the best of the bunch. It's built like a tank, everything works exceptionally well and it's very sharp, even wide open. I was leery buying it as it was my first "off-brand" lens, but after shooting it for 2 years, it's my favorite piece of glass. I haven't shot the new Nikkor DX wide, which will autofocus on a D40 or D60 (and this Tokina won't), but if you're shooting a DX camera with a focusing motor, you can't go wrong with this lens. Don't let the manual focus scare you off on the 40 or 60 either: it's smooth and fast, and you'll get the dot in the camera when you're dialed in. Try and find another wide that will open to f2.8 and is built this well at this price point. Good luck! My only complaint is that I can't take it with me when I move to full-frame.
