First thing you should do when buying a tv online is do research on exact model number. Google it! This TV arrived at my house and clearly been opened up prior. It had old shipping labels on it and the box was taped together. I get that it is refurbished but by the appearance of the box alone I sent it back without opening. After this I did some research and it wasn't good.

The Samsung HU8500 TV has a great picture, vibrant colors and it’s very easy to set up. I also purchased the Samsung 2.1 Channel Wireless Soundbar System and I was able to connect this sound system to the television in minutes. I only have one issue with this television and it is the setup with an external Cable box. The setup is easy but the final result controlling the external cable box with Samsung internal channel menu becomes cumbersome and it does not work well. At the end of the day you will use the original remove control to control the cable box and stay away from the Samsung TV’s channel setup. Over all I love the television.

I was hesitant about buying a "Smart TV" after reading some reviews reporting problems with the technology but I am delighted with this TV. The picture and sound are wonderful and I have had no problems using the installed internet apps. My only complaint is the remote doesn't seem to work very well but this may be the location of the sensor on the TV because I have the same problem using my cable remote with this TV. You have to hit the button a couple of times to turn the TV on/off or adjust the volume, but other than this minor nuisance it is an awesome TV for the money. In fact, I wish I stuck with Vizio. I recently bought my sons a ROKU Smart TV and I am having issues with the "Smart TV" functions on the ROKU TV. Now I have to go through the hassle of sending the ROKU TV back and getting a replacement, I'll likely go with another Vizio Smart TV.
