I tried brand new batteries, and this TV is poorly designed with very poor reception (only 2 stations on VHF) and Spanish stations on UHF. I would return it if I had not thrown away the original packing box.
Poor quality overall which I should have expected since it was reconditioned and not new.

This TV I bought for myself for in my work truck so I can watch the news when I wait to get loaded, it works realy well, the sound is a little low cause of the small speaker, but its wourth the money.
