VTech i5866 5.8 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone (Refurb)

I would recommend the purchase of this phone simply for the fact that you get so many phones in the one system. That's why we bought it and I love that feature. The phone has good audio quality, nice appearance, some cool features like being able to download your own ringtone to the phone, and was relatively inexpensive when you think about how many phones you get for the price. Now, the cons of this phone... it is an outdated phone - meaning it was new on the market a couple years ago. The biggest downfall of this phone is the call waiting feature. It has the stellar call waiting caller id, which I love, but when someone calls you, the phone cuts out your current conversation and replaces it with a high pitched (almost like trying to dial up on your computer) sound. It's disruptive and annoying, I'd prefer it be a slight beep that was only audible to you (most people know when I have another call now cuz of the long annoying noise and the cutting out of my conversation). All in all, I would buy this phone again - I don't get very many home phone calls so it's not that big of a bother!

You get a crazy amount of features on these phones for ther price. The sound quality is great. My only complaint is that you have to push the buttons pretty hard to get the phone to recognize the number when dialiing. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

This product works great. I can walk over to my neighbor's house and still talk on the phone. However there is one thing that is driving me nuts. The clock repeatedly changes itself back 3 hours. I'm sure it is something that I have done incorrectly but I can't figure it out. I guess I'll have to call tech support.

Nice hi tech phone, amazed at the personal ringtone feature and the ability to conference other phones in the house. Purchase refurbished and doesn't seem to have any problem. I also purchased the warranty just in case.

I probably expected too much from a refurbished item. The order arrived promptly. The antenna on the base was broken which probably affected it's range but even after gluing it back on; the handsets did not perform as I expected. I was also missing one of the handsets. The return process was easy, although elongated, as I had trouble receiving the return labels. The unit was replaced promptly with an unbroken base unit and the correct number of handsets. It has performed adequately but still doesn't have the range I would like.
