I had researched several small systems for using with an iphone/ipod. This one was not only attractive, but the specs were promising. I'm not disappointed. Great sound, the refurbished unit is in perfect condition and the size is very convenient. The real star of this until is the subwoofer and most systems didn't have one. Very pleased.

The unit will play but not charge the Ipod. That is a problem for my father as he uses his Ipod daily uses another devise. He is 91 years old and having to remember to charge the unit is annoying. Other than that, if your Ipod fits the unit it is nice but I found it later for less money.

I got this stereo a few weeks ago. It is compact and easy to operate. For what it lacks in fine tuning the sound of your music it makes up for in clarity and cost. Well worth the price.

Really quite a good deal. Refurbished but packaged like new. Unit sounds great in a small room. Unfortunately it won't charge newer IPods which is why it only got 4 stars. Worthwhile purchase!

The produce was exactly as advertised. Easy to set up with lots of alternative hardware. I would have liked to have had longer speaker wires and a better FM antenna for a 240 dollar unit. The FM antenna plug was unique and would be hard to use with a commercial high gain FM antenna. Overall, I am very satisfied.

I was looking for a small footprint shelf stereo for the kitchen, with an Ipod dock. The TEAC fit perfectly. Very good price and (I thought) small footprint. Well, the machine is good, but the relatively large subwoofer took me by surprise. And there is no way to bypass the subwoofer: all power and cords come through this. So my shelf unit is larger than my wife expected and we have had to use plants etc to try and camoflage it. Not very successful. This distracts from the otherwise good looking unit. If you try to place the woofer some distance away, then all sorts of ugly wiring shows. Sound is adequate with the subwoofer helping a lot. The unit works just fine, and is excellent value for money. I would certainly recommend it. Be aware of its bulk, though!

I use this little stereo in my bedroom. The sound is reasonably good, but I have the speakers relatively close to me, which may make them sound better than they are. The sub-woofer is not very aggressive, but not unpleasant. The remote is like a small block of granite - in weight as well as finish - and must be pointed directly or its signals are not captured by the base unit. A very good stereo for this price. One issue, a very simple thing, contributes to me deducting a star: the screen is rather bright in the stand-by mode, but exceeds a comfortable amount of illumination when playing. It lights up my dark bedroom a little too much, and apparently cannot be adjusted, toned down, or turned off. This would not be an issue for users not going to sleep by it. All in all, a decent unit.

If you are looking to get this for your ipod, make sure it works with the model you have!(4th,5th,etc.). It will still play through the speakers, but will not charge at the same time. Overall great sounding speakers at this sale price

I recently got this refurbished Teac system and I was plaeasntly surprised. My expeience with reburbished items is that it comes packaged gernerically. This item was in the original packaging in perfect condition. For the money, you simply can't go wrong. The sound is very decent. The only negative I can see is that the CD player is sensitive to any vibration. So if you're having your favorite beverage and place your drink on the same surface as the CD player, the CD might skip. It also requires two hands to installl a CD. If you're looking for a sound system for a small room like a bedroom, this unit works out nicely. If you're thinking about this unit, don't hesitate, it's pretty darn nice.

I needed a stereo system that had a cd player and a docking station for my itouch. This system is perfect.

This player has been great so far. We have yet to mount it on the wall but over all we have been pleased. The only problem so far has been that the remote does not work!!!! I believe we figured it out to be the battery it came with. So once we actually replace the battery all will be good. Otherwise I do agree with others saying that the CD player is a litttle sensitve to skipping this is why we are likely to mount it on the wall instead of keeping it on the table for our toddler to bang on!

I was a bit concerned about buying a "refurbished" unit, but after reading the reviews here I went ahead and ordered. There were no scratches, dents or missing pieces....all I could think of was the money saved by buying a refurb. This TEAC system is sleek and the sound is certainly above average. I love the super slim speakers and powered sub-woofer. Definitely recommend based on superior sound and value.

So far, so good. This is an ideal unit when space is at a premium. The sound, though not audiofile quality, is quite good for the size of the unit. It has a distinctive look as well.

I use this system in my bedroom. More than adequate for the purpose. Sound quality is better than expected, excellent bass. Sits neatly on my nightstand while the subwoofer is hidden under the bed. Ipod dock came in handy.Downsides to this system: power cord does not fit snuggly to the unit, any vibration or movement causes it to shift which disconnects the power. Periodically vibration from sound causes CD to skip. Not sure if the Ipod gets charged while this system is on. Overall a great system if you can remedy the downsides.

I received this product within a week and was very happy with it. I bought it primarily as a second stereo to play CD's in another part of my home and the sound quality was excellent. However, the FM antenna wire that came with it was rather flimsy, but overall I am very happy with this product. For the price though, it delivers high quality sound and I have had no problems with this item. I also like the fact that it takes up very little room. I would highly recommend this item to anyone who is looking for a compact stereo.

Saw this product new on various web sites but decided to go refurb as have had good sucess with refurbhished products & the price was right. Looked new upon delivery with easy setup. One audio cable was bad but Overstock customer service graciously provided credit to puchase another from their site. Powerful enough for my home use and has sleek design. I like the iPod docking feature. Though this was my first Overstock purchase, I would consider buying from Overstock again.
