Teac Phonograph and cd recorder
 from Idaho,  Oct 11, 2007

We have only used it once, but it seemed to do what we wanted. We recorded an old 33 1/3 record and were pleased with the results.

A great value for the money. The only thing missing that would be useful would be a ability to record from a cassette. It is easy to use.

Easy to Use But...
from New Jersey,  Jan 8, 2009

Reason for Purchas: I bought this for my father-in-law who has crates of old records. I liked the styling of it better than the old fashion style ones because it matches his current stereo setup. Pros: I like the styling and it's ease of use. Initially, we were going to get him a USB turntable but we figured having to burn CDs from the computer would be too much for him. So, the idea of burning a CD with the touch of 2-3 buttons was great. I tried it before we gave it to him and it was simple. Cons: The quality was a little questionable. There were some loose screws in the back-the ones that hold on the lid. One side of the LCD display was real bright, while the other side was dim but still readable and not too distracting. This next problem was more my fault. I was expecting the unit to have AUX OUT so he could play the records on the Teac but listen to the records through his system. It only has AUX IN. I either didn't read the specs well or they weren't clear at the time. Also, be aware that the CD-Rs must be Digital Audio CD-Rs. They are not the same as data CD-Rs. Normally, in a store their packaging will say Music CD-R but each individual disk should be printed with the Digital Audio CD-R logo. This caught me off guard. But I went and got SONY Music CD-Rs and it worked perfectly.

The Teac GF350 Nostalgia Turntable CD Recorder
from Chester, NY,  Nov 11, 2007

The Teac GF350 Nostalgia Turntable CD Recorder, was a gift for Mom, she loves it... It's easy to use, but you need be to gentle (with the cover and the record arm). They¿re design, although simple and convenient, If not handled properly, could break easily. Its footprint is great for tight spaces and the sound is impressive. When playing records 40+ year old¿ you don¿t hear the scratches. Unless, it is really worn out, even then it¿s hardly noticeable.

It's Just OK
from North Central Fla,  Sep 26, 2007

Audio quality is not all that good and it's not real easy to operate. But it does allow putting old records on to CDs which is what I was looking to do. External speaker jack would have made it better and write up should indicate it only uses digital audio CD-R which may or may not work with some players. No adjustments except recording level. Would not recommend if you desire professional results.

Disappointed
from Columbia, MD,  Nov 6, 2008

To record this requires a "audio" CD that is difficult to find. I've read the manual, downloaded a different version from the manufacturer, talked with the manufacturer tech support and still not able to get all the features to work. Some of the directions are conflicting. When recording I can either get a CD with all the LP songs as one track (can't be used for putting a song on my iPod), the CD's won't play in my computer, the track function must be used manually for each track--but even that doesn't work. It took so long to find the correct CD's to use I can no longer return this to Overstock. Again, very disappointing. I wonder if this was a refurb item because other buyers were able to return them.

I love it. Its small enough to take where ever you need to and the sound is better than I thought it would be. it would be nicer if you could adjust the tone. i really enjoy it and it looks real nice as well. i would recommend this to anyone that still has LP's that they would like to record. Pretty easy to use too.

Just as I hoped for.
from SLO, CA,  Jan 16, 2008

I received this item within 2 days. I haven't used all the features yet but it is of very good quality and worth every penny. It is easy to use and the sound is clear and very good. (I'm hearing-impaired and can hear all the words just fine, which wasn't so with a different one). Thanks 0Stock!

Not so Hot
from Twentynine Palms, CA,  Jan 5, 2008

Record play works fine, but you cannot adjust the tuning of the unit. It is very tinny sounding, with no depth. This unit needs an equalizer to be able to get the sound you prefer. Burning CD's is fairly easy, but here again, no depth to the sound.

Nostalgia Turntable CD Recorder okay
 from Texas,  Jan 4, 2008

the item was a Christmas gift and when it arrived I was not at home but the recipient of the gift was and in bold letters was exactly what it was on the box thus ruining the surprise. Overall it does what is expected, the sound is a little tinny but can be adjusted when you play the burned cd on another unit. If not sitting level it sounds a little wavy. When burning vinyl records onto cd if there are scratches on the records you can barely hear them or not at all depending on how bad they were scratched. All in all the gift was a good one. Ordered it on the 4th and it arrived on the 7th!

No tone adjustment

The lack of a tone ajustment makes playing some old alblums painful. Otherwise its a great way to play and transfer old records to cd.

Great Product
 from Boston,  Jan 2, 2008

Love this product. Records and CDs sound great. Have not tried the recorder as yet but am encouraged with the whole product. Not too big. Looks great in the Living room. I wish it had a tape deck. Easy to set up and use. Love it so far.

Excellent product and value
from Northwest Connecticut,  Jan 1, 2008

I ordered this TEAC system without ever having seen one in person. As usual, I was very pleased with how quickly Overstock processed and shipped my order. This unit looks and works great, and Overstock's price was the best I could find. I have played albums, radio, and CD; and have recorded albums to CD. Everything is simple to do using the included quick start guide or full instruction booklet. Recording was successful every time, including my first. The cabinet is attractive real wood. The only possible improvement would be for the unit to include a cassette player. Be aware that the instructions say that for recording you must use CDR or CDRW with the digital audio logo. You cannot use a standard data CDR or CDRW. All brands of these recorders apparently have that limitiation. I highly recommend this unit over other brands, and recommend Overstock due to their excellent pricing and service.

TEAC GF350 Nostalgia Turntable

This product was all that I had hoped for. The ability to listen to my vinyls and convert those I wished to CD for ongoing preservation and enjoyment was something that any owner of albums and records would enjoy.

TEAC GF350
 from Florida,  Dec 29, 2007

The system does exactly what I purchased it for......copying my ancient (1960's) LP Albums onto music CD's. It does require a bit of time to accomplish the task BUT it's great for those days when you don't feel like chewing thru the restraints. <GRIN>

TEAC GF350 Nostalgia Turntable CD-Recorder
from Southern California,  Dec 3, 2007

I really like the product. I gathered up some 300 record albums and have already successfully recorded 7 of them. And even learned how I could make best cuts selections between albums. Great product. One does not have as much sound quality control, but if you just follow the quality of the original record it still works very well. Now I can listen to my recorded albums in my car while driving. Great listening to those old smash albums of the 60s, 70s, and 80s!

It is what they said it was
from Central Wisc.,  Dec 12, 2007

If you expect this to be a great sounding stereo unit, you will be disappointed. It sounds fine but not great. If you want a simple, uncomplicated, and non technical way of burning cds from records or other sources, this is the machine for you. I love mine. It is so great to be able to listen to my old records in the car.
