I just love this unit. Very compact, clean sound, works great with my iPod and it's easy to use all the many features. I am especially pleased with the condition of this factory-refurbished unit.
This may be the best money I've spent in a while. The sound quality is very surprising, especially given the small size of the speakers and subwoofer. The treble speakers (not the woofer) are as thin as magazines and smaller than that in dimension. Astonishing! It's relatively easy to set up, comes with the gear you'd need to hang speakers and the unit itself on the wall, but I just set it up on a skinny, almost-not-there mantle and happily left it there. What a luxury to have a small unit that sounds so great and plays my IPOD endlessly. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone.
I bought it for my wife and she just loved it, since she was able to listen to her ipod while doing house cleaning. (Score one point for the guys!) Anyways, the sound quality is great and putting it together was a snap. (Took me like 5 minutes, (did not wall mount the speakers)) For a refurbished model it looked and played like brand new, no scrathches or blemishes. Anyways wife loved it and I was very much pleased with the item in its self. So why not all fives, you ask? Well as I was unpacking it, there was one itsy bitsy porblem... Its stated in the manual of what came in the box well as I went through it, I looked for the man module... check, two speakers... check, the different mounts for the ipods... check, one remote control...check, and one lithium battery for the remote control... Hmmmmm let me look again in the box I must of missed it, hmmmm maybe its taped to the main module, nope not there either, Well you get what I am getting at, yup you guessed it, no battery for the remote control. So tomorrow I have to go buy a battery for it, but beside that, AWESOME PRODUCT A MUST BUY!
The sound from this system is incredible. It is so easy to use and very stylish. A big plus being the size and various options for placement. One hint I have: When unpacking and moving the main unit around, be careful to hold it from the base. If you grab it from the top or sides, the CD cover slides up. Don't know if that can break the mechanism, but don't want to take the chance.
Great sound from thin speakers. The subwoofer really adds depth to the sound. It's pretty impressive for such thin speakers. It fits nicely on my desk. Good finish and high quality product. Much better deal than many of the iPod docking audios on the market.
We have had this unit for 3 years now. Other than a brief period when our kids complained that the CD wouldn't work (might have been user error), it has been great. We have used it in various locations. Currently we have it on top of our refrigerator and the speakers spread out on top of the upper cabinets. The way the speakers connect really is nice for placing them at a distance discreetly. The iPod connection to the main unit is easily disconnected if it is jingled at all.
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Accurate
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Yes.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Very good sound for CD and iPod. Tuner doesn't have very good reception.
This is a good system that delivers a quality sound. It is small but there are several components that have to be co-located. I prefer a system without so many components, but it works great once I found the right place to set up all the components. I use this system frequently.

I bought this about three years ago and I still use it almost every day. It is small and fits in a small room. Works great with my ipod nano - also is good for a single CD and for AM/FM reception.

Loved product when arrived, easy to set up, sounded great ,easy to use. Problem is Cd player started to hum about 2 months after purchase and then it stopped working about 1 month after that. Player will not play cd, just keeps opening up or closing and shutting off. This is the 2nd refurbished product I have bought and had problems with shortly after purchase.Did not insure so I am out of luck.Would not recommmend buying refurbished electronics to anyone. Save your money and buy new .
very disapointed. unit powered on but nothing worked,CD player, IPOD player, radio. Am in the process of returning for a refund. This was for a rental property and this is a pain to return it.
This is a great sounding system with wonderful lightweight and portable speakers. My husband LOVES this Father's Day 2009 gift!!
When I hooked it up, the iPod wouldn't play and the left speaker didn't work. I checked all of the connections multiple times. Maybe I got a bad one, going to return it and hope the next one works.
Sound quality is fantastic. The look of the machine is cool. Two complaints: 1) It skips to easily when playing CD's. My old CD player (R.I.P.) could play through lots of smudges and skips. This one seems to be too sensitive and skips on the slightest smudge or scratch. To be fair, I don't take good care of my CD's. But still this machine seems too sensitive.2) My main complaint is that it's not intuitive. Other machine's shift from "radio" function to "CD" function if you cycle through the functions, OR if you just push eject or "play." Not this one. You have to add the extra step of manually changing functions. I assume it's the same with an I-pod. Probably I'll get re-trained soon and this won't be a big deal. But it seems like a design oversight.
The sound and construction quality of this product is better than I expected. It was easy to hook up and was delivered within the time frame stated. Two of my friends are each going to order one because they were impressed with mine! Thank you..
For the money you won't beat it. It's not the most powerful system but it's fine for an office or bedroom where you want background music without it being overbearing. And it's compact not taking up much space. It's not 100% compatible with the latest Ipod Nano 4th gen, but only in that it doesn't charge in the docking stand, which is not a big deal. I think the earlier generation Ipods do charge, but not sure about this.
We have been really pleased with this product. The sound quality is very good. I like that it also has a CD player as well as a docking station so you can play a CD that you haven't downloaded. The price was great. I would warn buyers that the subwoofer shown in the picture must be hooked up since that is where the power source is located. I thought it was an additional speaker that was optional. So keep that in mind if space is a consideration.
As always the packing was great and arrived on time. Very easy to install but the connectors are flimsy specially the one connecting the base with the main unit (the power source). It still sounds good and works fine in my home office.
The Teac is wonderful. I was surprised by the richness of its sound. The entire transaction was flawless, and the price was great. I have absolutely no complaint!
I bought the little stero combo for my ipod shuffle and I would have to say that it Rocks!!! I put it together with no problem, but when I had to program the radio stations I had a little trouble with it. After I got the hang of it , it was no problem at all. It has great sound quality and the price is awsome too. I was really happy with this purchase I had made.
This is a great system for our purposes: just playing cds...we also found there is radio capability. Hopefully our children will use the ipod hookup. I had online help w/ a salesperson from overstock that I never knew about...what an aid that feature is. Feel that the value is excellent and expect many years of use from this product.
