I first purched this router back in 2003. I didn't have alot of money and it was on sale for $40 with the wireless adapter so it seemed like a great deal at the time considering most were about $80 dollars. Now I have had it for over 7 years and it still works perfectly. Some people complain about it dropping the signal, doesn't work right, ect... I have dropped my router several times on the ground, still works. It rarely drops a signal, maybe once every couple months so I use a paperclip and insert it into the the master reset hole every so often, easy as pie. Always works just fine. I can't get myself to subtract a star for something so petty, all routers need reset from time to time. There is firmware available but I never updated it. There was no need. Plus, chances are you are having a problem with your computer settings or wiring not the router. The router comes with the cd and pretty much installs itself.
