Great Buy

gateboy1 from Phoenix, AZ, Nov 21, 2009

I purchased these headphones for my father who is hard of hearing. In order for him to watch TV with us, captions needed to be used. These headphones are great, as we can all watch tv at a "normal" volume with no captions and he can enjoy the program as well. The product is easy to hook up and the built-in FM stereo is a bonus! He can listen to the radio when working around the yard or in the garage without blasting the volume. This product comes with cables for audio output from your cable box, tv or stereo as well as a separate, a "male to male" 3.5 mm cable for use with an mp3 player or anything else with a small headphone jack. My father disconnects the small transmitter from the cable box and hooks it up to his computer with this cable, so he can hear music or video game audio.I recommend this product - it is a great value for the money! The only thing that would make it better is if the manufacturer would supply a plug-in power supply for the transmitter....but the aaa batteries do last quite a while as long as you are dilligent about turning the power off when not in use.

LIfe Saver!

anaboanna from NC, Nov 20, 2009

These headphones are great! Once we figured out they are not for use with the ancient outdated television we had ;-). Be sure you check for an Audio Out plug before ordering these. We were in the market for a new TV in the bedroom anyways so we were able to use them after getting a new TV. They have been SO great for my boyfriend, now he can stay up and watch TV without disturbing me. Excellent value!

Sylvania Quality Shocker

topaz8 from Los Angeles, Nov 16, 2009

I was reticent about this purchase because I did not consider Sylvania to be as top notch in the headphone technology area as others like JVC or Koss, however, I was pleasantly surprised when I found how great sounding and easy to operate these headphones were. I just purchased a 32" Blue Ray Combo HD TV and loved listening to the stereo sound without wanting to disturb the neighbors. So I purchased these even after reading the not so sterling reviews, in hopes that they would work for me. And surprisingly, they work beautifully. My only qualm is that the buttons to switch from FM to TV can get lost in the fingering. Also, one should be careful and get a more powerful or rechargeable AAA battery for both units or it can become costly to constantly replace them.

Ok

cmoguer from Atlanta, GA, Oct 21, 2009

Works pretty well with a few caveats.Have connected off my plasma and I hear a humming when placed near the plasma. Poorly shielded and kinda defeats reason I got it if I have to put it far away from the plasma and string the connection 5-6 ft away to avoid the hum. Also, on two occasions, the battery on the transmitter totally drained even though I KNOW I turned the unit off. Not good. It does have a DC power input but it did NOT come with an adapter so I would need to get one. The audio is pretty clear and works well as long as you are no more than say 20 ft from the transmitter.

For cheap, you get cheap

rafaelabril from Mexicali, BC, Oct 2, 2009

Very light with a cheap plastic feeling. They do work. But you hear the TV a lower than average. It's a better sound quality directly from the TV without any sound system added. Well, for the price, I could say you get what you pay. But I even think for the quality, they are a bit expensive. Maybe a person who does not appretiates sound quality can have good use to it.
