its not the best quality sound but if your looking for a good quality subwoofer its worth the money

.It all comes down to the sound. Get the most Bang for your Buck. Sound Quality and control is Great. If you leave unit on after you shut down you will hear hum unlike other units that have auto shut off and on. It is only minimal so I leave it on all the time being switch is on rear of speaker. I don't feel any heat build up having it on 24 7. Wood Cabinet looks very well constructed and a refreshing site after seeing so many higher priced sub woofers in Plastic cabinets.

As it was mentioned by an earlier reviewer, this subwoofer emits a very audible hum when turned on. To make matters worse, it does not have the auto on / standby feature, so you have to turn it manually on and off with the switch on the back unless you like to hear it humming away when not in use. Plain annoying. It would be a good deal if not for this significant flaw. Don't know how the sound quality is, because due to the humming, I didn't even try it but put back into the box and returned it.

I originally discovered Overstock.com when I decided to buy floor speakers for my home entertainment. Now, after two years, I have come back to Overstock.com and bought a wonderful new Subwoofer. This Subwoofer is certainly worth the money I paid for it. It has a solid bass beat and matches my current front speakers. I believe that if you are new to home entertainment and are not wanting to risk too much money for a solid subwoofer than I highly recommend this. You will be glad you did. Just don't expect the manual to be too informative. Of course, if you are familiar with speaker setup than this should be a walk in the park for any potential buyer.
