I had the BIC 200 watt subwoofer before this one for about double the money and after 5 years it started smoking and died. Of course the 160 watt 10" that I just purchased is not as powerful but it does add alot to movies and most TV shows that isn't there with no subwoofer. The room I have it in is about 36' by 17" and is maybe a bit too large for the 160 watt. WHen I upgrade my TV to HD I will buy the more powerful subwoofer and move this 160 watt one to a smaller room. All-in-all a nice piece of equipment. I would buy another one-especially for the price I paid.

I had two 8in BIC subs and I just bought 2 more 10in subs. You can't beat the price vs. JBL, etc that are going for $400/ea.
My two 10in subs are in my basement, one 8in in my master bedroom and one 8in for outside in an enclosed environment. Plus I have a 12in in the family room.
Needlesstosay- my house rocks with 4+ different surround systems...
This sub will blow you away. Its awesome, and BIC has made me a believer in their product

Brought the sub for use with a 5.1 Klipsch Quintet II speaker system. System sounds great (very clear) at low and loud volumes. No need to buy the more expensive Klipsch sub.
