I use this with my MP3 player. You can actually hear it in the car with the sunroof open in traffic. That is loud for a small MP3 speaker. I also hook it on a ring at the bottome of my backpack if I have a distance to walk. When I do that I have to watch for disparaging looks. That means I got carried away and had it up too loud. And it is far from it's limit .No, it is not a $$$ speaker so it does not have $$$ quality sound. It is a little bulky if you don't hookit to something, but in the city where it is noisy, I can hear mymusic.

well, it's rather heavy and the sound is very scratchy and crackly when you turn up the volume on your mp3 device...it doesn't have it's own volume control...if you just want a low volume version of your tunes, say, lying next to your ear at the beach, this could work...but it can't handle a reasonable amount of volume and it's awkward to carry around....but for the money it will do in a pinch

There is no volume control on this speaker. The Droid 2 is too big for the holder so the Iphone4 is probably too big too despite the clear back cover to allow access to smart phones. There is a lot of static at higher volumes but I use it for audio books so this is not too bad. Would not buy another or recommend.

I love this speaker. The sound quality is exceptional and it is easy to use.

I bought this for my son to listen to when he doesn't go in stores with me, because I don't leave keys in the car. It works great, battery usage is minimal and sound is very good. Have recommended it to others. I read the reviews before buying and am glad I decided to buy it.

This little speaker case packs a very nice sound, my car radio died a while back and I've been using the Sound FX SPC120 Portable Speaker Case ever since, my mp3 player is loaded with music and this case zips open or you can drape over the seat, it works very well, the only drawback for me was not enough bass.

On a recent trip, this item proved to be more than what I paid for; the music coming from the Portable Speaker was awesome. Going to buy another one for a friend.
