Simple DMP
Simple interface. Your not going to wow anyone by this device. I bought 2 of these for my standard def TV to allow them to access the media on my window home server. If your familiar with setting up a home network or have the ability to have a wired network, setup is a cinch. Interface could be snappier. The interface is basically text, no thumbnails until your playing the music track. Haven't tried this with HD content. Wireless works well with SD content (few skips here and there...wife still approves). I would image HD content over wireless (G) would not work at all. Codec support is limited. Product is discontinued ...so no additional codecs in the future. On my HD tv, I have a PS3. All my videos are in mpeg2 format. For what I needed, these devices fit the bill perfectly. Sony made this a solid device, works great, just lacks snap and codec support.
